We have visited a lot of Mexican restaurants in many different states and this one is the best! Great quality food. Great assortment on their menu. The BEST margarita flavors – I think the mixed berry is my favorite but so many are great. Love this option in our town!

We were staying in Macon, MO about half an hour away. Virtually nothing but fast food was available on a Tuesday. We found Los Chimas through a Google Maps search and decided to “risk” the hour round-trip drive after confirming that they were open. Good food, good service, and a festive atmosphere with hand-painted tables. Accommodated my wife’s food sensitivities and served tasty $2 margaritas for happy hour.

Went to the restaurant with a party of 3. The hostess refused to let us sit at a table for six. She said they wanted to leave it open in case a party of six came in. We waited for 15 min no one came in. She still wouldn’t let us take the table. We left without eating. Rude help and will not be going back. I guess three peoples order isn’t good enough for them.

Fantastic little mexican place with upscale dishes. Not your typical run off the mill mexican food. They have the basics too but our meal was plated beautiful, tasted amazing, and they were super friendly! We will be back for sure!

This is an amazingly great place – not just for a town like Marceline – but anywhere. I’m pretty picky when it comes to American-Mexican vs. Mexican-Mexican, and while Los Chimas tilts toward the former, there are enough elements of the latter to make me happy. Like having rabanos y cilantro available for tacos and such, and not blinking when asked for them. The drinks look amazing (our friends had them – we didn’t) and everyone in our party of 8 was very happy with their entrees. So don’t let the small town in north central Missouri aspect keep you away from coming off of 36, or just making the trip to Marceline. Los Chimas is worth the drive and your dining dollars.
