I love eating pho here because they are very generous with the bean sprouts, basil, hot Chili, and the sauce.

I have not been to this location in over 30 years and I have to say it was very disappointing. First of all the broth was very lightly flavored and boring. I can make better broth myself at home. The meat was a bit tough. Overall the Pho was not very good, yet they have the nerve to charge $13.99 for extra large bowl of Pho, by most standards is equal to a large at other average Pho shops and did not have much rice noodle.

This place is a total gem! No hassle no fuss but serving one of the best pho on the island. This is not a fine dining restaurant but a cool local dining spot. ❤️

Our first visit to Phở Tô Châu started horribly when we were rudely instructed by the waitress (an older lady) to wait back outside, after we had entered the restaurant to ask for a table (we swear we couldn’t see any signs to line up outside). Never mind, we heard good things about the phở and were willing to wait patiently and give this place a chance. When we were finally seated, it took over 20 minutes to get a hold of the right person (another old lady) to place our orders. We couldn’t just order with the same lady who showed us to our table and brought us ice water to drink?

It’s a Hole-in-the-wall place….. let that be understood first. Is it gritty…yes. Is it dusty…yes. Is this the best bowl of pho in Honolulu…YES. Minimum amount of salt/MSG in their broth. The broth is simple and clean. The other pho places in town, you can tell the amount of MSG used(too much). To Chau opened in 1987. It was the first pho place in Honolulu. The same three sisters run the place. Nothing has changed since 1987… the old funky pictures, plastic plants, the vinyl chairs.

I love this place! Although prices might be a little bit high compared to other places, the amount they give is A LOT! The only bad thing is the customer service- workers seem to be a bit strict. However, being a long time customer, we’ve talked to them and are pretty nice. Also, the taste of their pho is amazing, especially because their soup sets them apart from their competitors around them. Overall a great place to go. Totally would recommend it.
