Finally made a visit to El Mariachi, and WOW! I had high hopes and they exceeded my expectations in every way. Great little spot in the mountains, I really enjoyed the tables outside. I have not felt so welcome at a restaurant in many years, and the FOOD…. it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Fajitas, three kinds of tacos, it was all fresh, delicious, and perfect. Can’t wait to go back!

We had lunch at El Mariachi in Cedar Crest today, Tuesday 4/20/23 We ordered six $1.75 tacos from their Thursday special menu and a canned drink and was charged $20 + change. As we were eating, I told my husband that we were overcharged. I talked to Alexander who took our order at the register. He was very rude as he said “I can assure you the charge is correct” which of course it couldn’t be just from basic math you learn in elementary school. He re-rang the order and realized I was correct said he would refund the difference. He came to our table and dropped $10.36 on the table and walked away. No apology, no nothing.

This is a great East Mountain must-have. Their food is made with heart, and is always delicious. Though I can take the heat, they bring the spice down because they listen to their community and its needs. Regardless, the food is great, the staff is always kind, patient, and helpful. Truly a little gem on the Turquoise Trail. I’ll be back often.

Fajita quesadilla was all I could have hoped for. Chips and salsa were also great. Chile rellenos was delicious. Food came out quick. Nice outdoor seating available and cute indoor tables.
