“Hot and Cold” Some things they do so very well, others, not so much. In our first visit since the COVID outbreak, we ordered the T-bone steak special and the shrimp/sausage pasta bowl. The bowl was very good, although we know of some people who might think it a little too spicy. The T-bone was disappointing. Traffic was slow, so it’s not like theF kitchen was overwhelmed. Yet, the medium-rare steak I ordered came out decidedly medium if not more done. To be fair about the description, the piece of meat was about 1/4″ thick by the time I got it. I personally think that a steak should start out at least 1″ thick when raw. This couldn’t have been 1/2″ thick raw. But the time you put grill marks on both sides, the steak is already at least medium. You just can’t get medium-rare, let alone rare, on a thin piece of meat. For those who like their meat medium or more, this would do fine.

We ordered the T-bone special, and they were cooked perfect! Our server Luke did a awesome job! Made sure our drinks were full and was very pleasant. Great atmosphere, and nice decor. Definitely worth the trip to Upsala!

We stopped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It did take quite a while for our food to arrive, but they were a little busy so I can understand the wait on food. The food was good, but when the bill came we were shocked. They charged us an 18% gratuity and a 3% fee for using a card. Apparently they add the 18% gratuity on “parties” over 6 people. Our party consisted of 4 adults (my husband, myself, myself parents and 2 kids). I can kind of understand charging a gratuity for dinner hours if we had been ordering from the bar and food, but not for breakfast or lunch. The service was only ok. She did refill the cups of coffee twice but never refilled water for 3 of us. Also when my dad asked for a glass of water he never did get it. I don’t think it was deserving of an 18% tip. I don’t know if we will return. Definitely not with more than 5 people. In a small town area you can’t do things like this. So disappointing. – Oh by they way, I am a tipper. I was in food service once myself, but I will tip as I want and the service deserves.

The ribeye steak was absolutely wonderful. The service was great. They was also a very nice selection of craft beers. As another reviewer pointed out the menu was not what you would expect. Many fine selections.Yes, it’s a hidden gem in Upsala!

Had a fantastic Steak and Eggs breakfast this morning. The nice, thick chunk of sirloin was cooked a perfect medium rare, as ordered. My ONLY complaint was the orange juice. I understand “fresh squeezed” isn’t a practical option in a small operation, but upgrading to Minute Maid would REALLY make a difference. Not only would it please the weekend breakfast crowd, the mimosa and screwdriver drinkers would also appreciate the flavor distinction.

Went for Valentine’s day for the first time and was not impressed. Server was great. However, everything we ordered was wrong. Even the bread was stale. Might try again on a less busy night, but will not get the burnt pasta.

Went for a celebratory dinner, was highly impressed both with food and the attentive service by our waiter Quinton. Everybody’s food was great, the salmon, the porterhouse, and the full rack of ribs were all incredible!

Saturday night foray into Upsala for dinner. Nice place. Menu not what you’d expect: swordfish, mahi mahi, prime rib, and more. Not deep fried bar food. Atmosphere good, service great. Apologized numerous times for having to wait 30 minutes for it meal, but explained when we were seated it would be since they ” got slammed” about 15 mins before we got there. Seriously not a problem at all.
