Im staying at the Winstar Hotel tonight on Elite (not a big deal here) status…. I ate at Mickey Mantles, which I have done many times in the past years. It serves bar menu and Kirby’s menu food.

Rib-eye steak and salmon were very tasty. The sides we ordered were also well seasoned. Nice little comfortable restaurant. Our server was very friendly and checked on us periodically. We treated ourselves on the high end entrees since we had some free dine in credit to burn.

A truly baffling experience. Asked host about making a to-go order, he said I still had to wait in line. Ok, sure. So I go to the end of the line and wait…and wait…and wait. Over 30 minutes, while all of us in the line sat there and watched empty tables and staff just milling around. The bar stool I was eventually led to was open the ENTIRE TIME I was in line. There were many open tables and seats and I counted 7 staff not including the 2 hosts. Why aren’t they seating people? The female bartender was nice but after I placed my order I never heard from her again. Waited again over 45 minutes to get my to-go order which was grilled chops (no sides) and a house salad. The to-go salad was maybe 1/2 the size of the salad you get for dine in but at the same price. It’s great that they do comp meals and coupons and all that and I’m sure at times it’s not easy but this was such a weird, sour experience. It’s almost like they don’t actually want people to eat there.

The management is unprofessional from the way the drink beverages at the host stand to the attire of the male manager. This sets the tone for the entire host stand. One employee was even chewing on a toothpick and taking it in and out of her mouth while sorting menus. The managers take their friends out of the line and seat them first. This behavior is unacceptable at any restaurant even more for one at this price point. We have also eaten at the Kirby’s and it’s the same. Eat somewhere else if you can

Order a salad and some wing’s yesterday with my husband and 2 kids. Upon leaving we were stopped by the caucasian host with the glasses only to be asked “Did you pay your bill?” I replied “ do you ask everyone that when they’re leaving?” She replied “I was told not to let you leave “. Mind you my bill was 4$ after comp. Mortified that we hadn’t been in the places even 20 minutes or eaten…, yet we we’re singled out and treated like poor thieves trying to celebrate my birthday. Stood in their ridiculous line for 35 minutes waiting for 1 seat at the bar. At least 7 seats were available but they refused to seat me because they were “hoping” those that reserved “bar seating” would have shown up. But They didn’t show up for 35 minutes! These managers and hostesses are S-T-U-P-I-D for turning away Paying customers and costing their employees from making money! I suppose that’s why all of their employees are working in Dallas now. Lol

The atmosphere would be better if the servers didn’t seem so difficult and have a condescending attitude esp as soon as you want something corrected etc…. Also if you have a food offer if you go over a $1 or 2 some may do it to where it covers it some others will charge you the overage plus all the taxes on that order. Also beware of charges that they may not mention. If you are using an offer you may have spent money well over these amounts to even receive these comps. It’s just the principle you may have come to enjoy that reward not spend extra unnecessary cost.

We ordered from both menus (Kirbys & Mickey Mantle) & every single item was delicious! From the bourbon cocktails to the waygu platter- nothing disappointed! Our waiter Jon also made our dining experience amazing!! He was attentive, knowledgeable about questions we had regarding menu, and just a very pleasant demeanor! Highly recommend eating here!
