This restaurant is a nice little place to eat. I hadn’t been here in a while but it was pretty good. I had biscuits and gravy and sausage on toast with American fries.

Was not impressed at all. Food was already cooked and in case under heat lamp. Waitress when asked what sides went with special said green beans, baked carrots, uhm, mashed potatoes and some other kind of potato…I don’t know what it is. Walks off to get drinks and blue glasses have a white greasy scum around top had to ask for straws. Ordered a Salisbury steak special and a country fried steak special with gravy because she said country fried steak don’t come with gravy. We ask again what other side choice was and she hollers across room and asks another person and says parsley potatoes. We said we’d have those. She then opens the case and said what’s Salisbury steak look like. I don’t know what that is……..someone comes and shows her what it is. We get our plates and there’s 6 little potatoes and the country fried steak with NO gravy. We asked again for gravy and she takes plate and goes back to warmer and says you want brown gravy……no white gravy…..oh okay. Well where do you want me to put it……preferably on the meat. We were very disgusted. Dirty glasses, heat lamp lunch special, horrible service, a little piece of meat and 6 little potatoes a piece for $23.00. We won’t be back. It’s a shame because back in the day I can remember Wagon Wheel being very good.

I was in town on business and stopped here to eat today because the marquee outside said Sweet and Sour Pork was the daily special. It was delicious and then I overheard a lady ordering dessert, Heath Bar Cake. I wanted that too but I was too full from the daily special, and I was on my way to an business appointment and I knew that a Togo of the cake would not survive locked in my hit car, so I asked my waitress if I could keep it there until I was done with my meeting, to which she politely obliged. Long story short I ate it tonight and it was delicious.

Have only been three times because I wanted to give it a fair chance. However, the food never got better. The staff is friendly and the place has a small town charm to it. With all those things said I figured there would be love in the food. Instead I got something bland and depressed looking.

Good home-style comfort food. Fast, small town friendly service where they’ll recognize you the next time you come in. If you’re alone, no problem because you can sit down with others at “the liar’s table” & join in the conversation.
