My first time visiting Chicago and this was the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life! Everything was FULL of flavor, Claire is so kind. I tried another Jamaican spot, assuming all of it in Chicago would taste the same. I was wrong. Claire’s is by far the best in the whole state! I plan on coming back from Oklahoma just to go to Claire’s again!

One step into this restaurant and you are greeted and consumed with the love and warmth that is Claire. You will be more than satisfied with any one of her mouthwatering offerings. My personal favorites are oxtail with cabbage, jerk chicken with rice and peas, or her curried goat. The plantains will be the best you’ve ever tasted!

I think this place needs a little more love. The food was amazing! One large “plate” was enough to feed two hungry people. The snapper was nicely seasoned and the onion had a good spiciness to it. Everything tasted fresh and hot. I do wish we got more plantains because they were really good. Had a little crunch on the edges which I enjoyed. Ox tails were fall off the bone tender <3

First of all… Claire’s opens at 12, not 11am… error on the google page. I ordered a large oxtail dinner, 1/4 dark, and a dozen patties… everything was absolutely PERFECT. The portion size and flavor of the oxtail was worth driving across Chicago for, hands down.

Drove to the original location and saw they relocated. Decided to drive a little further to the new location and I was not disappointed! The food was super good, tasted fresh and authentic. The guy who took my order also made the food and was super friendly. Definitely coming back!
