This was my first time visiting Spasso. It was a near 100 degree day and many area restaurants air conditioning either failed or couldn’t keep up. Spasso’s air conditioning seemed to be doing the best, albeit very warm inside the restaurant. This caused people to flood into the restaurant and I don’t think they were prepared for that. The wait for service was extraordinary long with wait times of 20 plus minutes after a drink was empty. The food was fantastic, however. I started with the steak fondu, which was DELICIOUS. For the meal, I ordered the Italian chop salad (this was just OK) then sampled the Spasso pizza and bolognese. They were delicious! I’m excited to return on a day that isn’t so chaotic. The only reason for 4 stars was because there was an issue with the bartender taking more tables than he could handle (including ours) and we overheard pushback when the manager was trying to prevent that. The manager ended up having to jump in and get our drinks refilled after waiting nearly 30 minutes after the bartender took our order. The overall feedback I have received from many of the regulars is that the food is great but the service is very hit or miss.

Made a reservation, arrived on time and were seated promptly. Waited 20 minutes without a server checking in. One of us checked in with the front desk and the nice hostess went to check in with the wait staff for us. 10 minutes later we still hadn’t had a server check in so we left. No service at all besides being seated for 30 minutes when there were two servers working the patio. Very awkward.

We’ve been there 3 times now and consistently had the same server. She wasn’t rude but she wasn’t very personable. our service was so slow. She only checked on us two times total besides waiting for us to close out our bill. The food is good, the location and atmosphere is nice, maybe they just need servers that seem like they want to wait on tables? She didn’t check back around for refills either. Just disappointed for the price point.

Spasso happy hour is fantastic. Another highlight on the menu is the braised beef ravioli. I have found their menu is pricey and would not order certain items again ($20 for a low quality chicken cobb salad). Their partnership with the Wine Shop next door really is a draw for myself and many others. The patio is summer is nice but has limited hours, we have been told they are no longer seating patio after a certain time on weekends which was a bummer. I live in the area, is not our favorite restaurant in the area but we will visit again as they keep improving their service and food quality.

Spasso was a mediocre experience in Italian cuisine. The wood oven, and brick columns with lit stain glass added to the ombiance. However, the restrooms we unkempt with overflowing trash receptacles and dirty fixtures. The caesar salad was a disappointment of low quality mostly romaine stalks with stale croutons. Our entrees of ravioli and lasagna tasted average, but lacked in meat; yet the sauces had good flavor. We were happy with the service and wine selections. Overall the quality of food and cleanliness has declined over the years.

Bring back the Summer Specials!!! We stopped in today to have the Beet and Quinoa Salad that is absolutely delicious and was told by our server that it’s no longer available nor will it be available anymore. Why would you take it off just weeks after starting it???
