My favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. Ran by at least three Japanese people, unlike a ton of other “Japanese” restaurants that are actually ran by non-Japanese owners. The flavor of everything I’ve tried thus far is exactly how it tastes in Japan. Too many chefs try to do their own “take” on Japanese food, but Japanese food is traditional. This restaurant gets it right. Extremely polite service. Please give them a try if you love Japanese food.

Not greeted on entry, no instruction on a table. Great ambiance, well maintained. Purchased sushi special, Alaska roll, and tempura vegetables. Very fresh, wonderful service settings and good sushi rice. Tempura was light and crunchy. Everything was liked, one in party mentioned the portions as smaller. Will go again.

Cute little place in downtown Tigard. Came here for a date night. We got miso soup, edamame, and a few sushi rolls and everything was delicious. Great service and we are looking forward to going back soon!

One of my few favorite Japanese restaurants at the west side of Willamette river. Always clean environment and delicious food. Love their sushi roll, nigiri and lunch box.

This time the sushi was a bit lacking primarily due to the fact that they don’t have enough business to justify purchasing finer cuts of fish. Before covid…5 star sahimi! However, this time the katsu Don was superb

This hidden gem is by far the best sushi and Japanese restaurant I have found in the Portland area. Would never go anywhere else! Fresh, delicious, authentic food with attentive service in a lovely atmosphere.

Not sure why people rave about this place, it’s a solid OK. We were a party of 9 and the place was half empty. The owner almost turned us away. We ordered appetizers, noodles and sushi. I make better mackerel at home. So expensive for mediocre. Not returning.

The best Japanese food around. Since moving to the Tigard area 4 years ago, my family and I have never come across a better home style Japanese food. The owners are lovely, the food NEVER disappoints, and they have a great sake selection. Takeout or dining in, I won’t spend my $ anywhere else. Including a photo of my delicious soft shell crab tempura because we ate everything else too fast!

Perfectly seasoned rice reveals a lot about the quality of the ingredients. And MAKI has the best of both. Japanese owned restaurant on Main Street in Tigard. Worth the drive from downtown Portland.
