Being a small business owner in a small town, my husband and I always try to patronize fellow small businesses for our lunch breaks. We always enjoy eating with Crofton and his wife at the Purple Sage. Because we love it so much, we have never ordered anything else, and we can only review the fish basket. It always hits the spot! The fish is fried crispy and without a heavy batter. So the flavor of the swai or grouper (we’ve tried both) really shines. The coleslaw tastes really fresh, and the fries are always yummy. If you have room left, you HAVE to try a slice of delicious homemade cake or pie. They always have a nice selection in the dessert cooler.

I was only here once but will be back for sure soon, with the whole family. We are new in town and the owner is very friendly, it was a joy talking to him. This place adds to the small town feel. I wish more places like this still existed, very friendly and personable and NOT cookie cutter, bottom line only, impersonal establishment. I love this place and enjoyed chatting with the owner and will be back many times.
