The food was pretty bland. I thought that I’d visited years ago and enjoyed a meal, however this time I left disappointed. I let the maitre’d know how bland and unseasoned my chicken enchiladas were on my way out. He went in and tasted it and confirmed that they tasted the way that they should have. he explained that the green sauce was just tangy. that’s all it’s supposed to be ‍♀️. the food reminded me of a restaurant in a small town far away from Mexico, where people have only one place to go and have never tried real Mexican food . Except, this place is in NYC!

The steak tacos was delicious, I need to come back and try more of their food. Nice music, the service was okay. On Sundays they have a Latino Party so try to book in early, have your food and then have your little party with couple of drinks.

A friend recommended this place to me so I decided to give it a try on a Sunday night. The ambiance was good and the food was good up until this Colombian bartender overcharged me for 2 drinks and when I asked her about it she gave me the nastiest attitude. This place is supposed to be known for their hospitality and this employee definitely was the opposite of that. I’m not the type to write a bad review but they need to either teach this employee how to freaking treat customers or fire her!

Would give zero stars if I could. Went here on a Saturday night with a group of Asian people, all who love Latin music, and waited 30 minutes to get in. While we waited they let several people of a certain color (YT) in and only charged $25, meanwhile they took a look at us (Mexican and Asian) and asked us for $75 per person. When we refused they called the cops for trespassing, which was extremely excessive considering we were just standing outside on the sidewalk waiting for our Uber. This was the rudest staff I have ever encountered, the sad part is similar instances have happened to others I know but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt.

I went at night when it becomes a nightclub. It had a long line but it moved fast. The entry is usually $25 for women (with 1 drink) and $50 for men (includes 2 drinks). I think the entry is a fair price since that’s around how much anyone would spend inside anyways.

My friend had emailed Papatzul several times making sure that our birthday party of 25 could get in without paying a cover. They assured her there would be no cover. That was very much not the case. We showed up to a $50 cover per person. We were ready to spend money on alcohol but were not let in because they wanted to squeeze out as much money as possible. Joaquin is a dishonest, greedy businessman that if he truly was a good manager would not be on the street trying to cut deals with people trying to get in. Disgusting decorum and wouldn’t be surprised if this place closes soon.

Great music. Great ambiance. But they false advertise to “pay cover for 2 free drinks” at the door. Then the bartender gives you only 1, and when you ask for the second free drink, they say no and treat you disrespectfully.

I had an average experience dining at this place. The staff was not attentive. The restaurant was crowded on the Saturday night that we went in so I can understand that it took them a while to write our orders down. However, they messed up the order twice. While the corn appetizer was good, the vegetarian tacos were only decent. There was cheese on only one of them. Overall, it looked like the food was prepared in a haste. The ambience was average too. I found the place to be loud. Not going to visit again.

The drinks are so expensive and destructive! You won’t get a buzz out of it. My husband pays 12 dollars for one Modelo beer! We didn’t eat, so I don’t know how the food is. I know the place is a restaurant during the day and, at night is a bar/lounge. The bathrooms are super tiny.

have never been for the food…. but the nightclub is awesome. Great music. Cover charge includes a drink. In the winter there is a coat check as well.
