4 stars for being disappointed on their new item on the menu Beef Birria. First of all- it was delicious! Second – I was told it would come two pieces and I got home having one piece for about $6 with rice and beens. Not sure what the display price is , but it was not what it said. I also got a sweet pork barbacoa which I usually get.

Caution when ordering online or take out. If order is incorrect the local number listed goes to a call center. Ordered (2) burritos with exact same ingredients. One burrito was made incorrectly. Had to drive back and no offer to refund, credit or even offer a simple apology. Order at your own risk

I pulled up to cafe rio at 9:40 thinking I made it before they closed at 10:00. When I walked in a gal with a long blond braid said they decided to close early and could not make any food. They had already started tearing the kitchen apart and everything was put away early for the night. Highly disappointed! If you have advertised you close at 10 then you should close at 10 not 9:30.

Ordered ahead on the app, walked in, and grabbed my order from the rack drove home. Discovered I was missing the queso that I paid extra for and salad dressings that I paid extra for. Drive all the way back to the location to find out that they were out of queso, but nobody decided to tell me before I left the building when I picked up my order. Could I have checked the bag before I left the parking lot, sure. But to have a customer walk out knowing they paid for a large side of queso roughly $7 and not say anything, not even a sticky note on the bag? I did get a so sorry after I explained my situation to the manager that came up to offer a refund because his employee said nothing about the situation. His employee just screamed, refund! And he came from the back, almost like it was a somewhat common occurrence at this location. I like cafe Rio, but this was frustrating. I appreciate the refund but only after I “caught” them.

Station food looked cold and old , waste receptacles were gross. Got my order wrong and while they fixed it they weren’t friendly. Food was blan. Don’t care to go back and it makes my thankful that our Costa Vida here in tucson(which I believe is a sister company) is great!

Went here to try something new. It was busy but with a pleasant atmosphere. The food ended up being way better than I ever expected. Really hearty filling food that’s actually fairly healthy. Drink bar had some incredible fresh juices, teas, and different horchata plus soda. Best of all the staff was so incredibly friendly doing things for customers I haven’t seen in ages. I can’t wait to go back!
