Some of the the best BBQ I’ve ever tasted. We had ribs, brisket, Pork sandwich, coleslaw, and smoked collards, Everything was amazing.

I’m continuing my journey to find the best bbq in Jacksonville. Today I hit the jackpot. A friend told me about Bernt Ends, and especially their deviled eggs. This place hit it out of the park. The brisket was amazing, only seconded by the diviled eggs with sweet maple bacon. And their sauces were great. Only one mystard sauce. I’ll have to return just to try the other sauces.

Service was friendly and the restaurant was pleasant! Now the food on the other hand. I had a sudden craving for BOBBY-Q so I read the reviews and headed in. I wanted to try everything so the young lady recommended the 4 meat platter w/3 sides, 2 pcs of toast and 2 drinks =$40 I added some deviled eggs =$48 The meat options except the sausage lacked flavor, if a dry rub is used to smoke the meat, salt is not in the rub anywhere. Brisket and pork were dry. Turkey was okay and I’m guessing they don’t make their own sausage so it was good (not great but okay). I don’t like mac-n-cheese usually and this did nothing to change that….visually unappetizing and lacked any flavor. The greens were cooked almost to mush but they were seasoned and pretty good. The datil beans were also okay. The deviled eggs were extremely hard boild…tasted like those pre-boiled store bought eggs (hard and rubbery) and again despite the appearance of seasoning lacked flavor (I poured bbq sauce on them to help). Now the platter ratio implies that it’s enough for 2 people, but the side portions say otherwise! The bbq sauce, specifically the one they call Carolina is not a great representation of what Carolina BBQ has to offer, way to loose and I get it, it’s vinegar base but they left out the flavor and heat. As I write this review I realized I didn’t get my 2 pcs of toast…so I just deducted a star from the service 4 to 3! I usually give places a 2nd chance but after being -$50 in these hard economic times I don’t want to risk more disappointment. See pictures for details.

Small cozy place. Good break from big bbq place. Love the staff, good and friendly people. I was a little skeptical in the beginning because of our different race, but this is a fantastic friendly place. Been here many times and will be back more

Great bbq!!!! Mom and pop style restaurant with great family like feel. Crac-Mac to die for and brisket and ribs that fall apart. So if you want to support small businesses and want some of the best bbq in Jacksonville so here trust me. I will be back many more times.

This is not a fancy place. Just a simple mom & pop barbecue spot. The chef and his wife, who are also the owners, run it and assisted us with everything. Giving great recommendations and telling us what he likes and specializes in. They also sell their own homemade barbecue sauce. So the chef was giving us information on that as well. The food was extremely good. I love the fatty brisket. But we also got ribs and pork as well as lean brisket and every bit of it was just delicious and seasoned so well. Sometimes barbecue can be a little dry if it’s sitting for too long and that was not an issue.

Sometimes we need 1/2 stars. I would give it 3.5 stars. The meat was good. The sides started out well but had a weird aftertaste.

Great food. Only problem they don’t serve french fries or any fried food. Also they were out of brisket & it was only 2:00pm !

This is some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a long time! I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was super moist and delicious. I was in the mood for barbecue and saw this on Google. This was my first time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint! I will definitely come back! The banana pudding, ice cream is so yummy!
