Ichi is a pretty big chain of restaurants in the Vancouver, WA metro area; however, I have never been entirely impressed with their food. They used to be more on the affordable side, but have been raising their prices lately. Their food is good if you have nothing else to eat, and honestly, some days it’s prepared better than others. Unfortunately, I do think that there are better teriyaki and Japanese restaurants all over town. Service has always been nice and quick for me, though.

I used to love this place – and this location specifically. The prices have gone up quite a bit, while the quality of the food and the service has gone down. I paid $30 for two to-go chicken teriyaki meals. The spicy bowl didn’t come with any teriyaki sauce. The dinner came with only one tiny cup of teriyaki sauce – not nearly enough for both the chicken and the rice. The chicken was served dry and had no sauce on it. The salad dressing used to be really good, too, but was watery and flavorless. The owner used to be in the store regularly and was always so friendly. I called to comment-complain and was told that’s just how it is…that i should have known to ask for “extra” if I wanted more. I wonder if the management and/or ownership has changed. It definitely feels like they’ve stopped caring. I won’t be returning.

So they close at 9 we arrived at 8:35, they didn’t seem happy about it the looks on their faces… the front counter lady looks at the cook and they whisper to each other, then the counter lady instantly turns back at us and says “we don’t have chicken” we still ordered one dish to go, food was cooked and we were out way before 9. only to get home and find multiple long hairs. Will be calling management following day.

Great food, freshly made, hot when served and big portions. The tables were clean, bathroom clean and plenty of parking. Staff was very nice. Owner was very nice too. Prices were reasonable. I am definitely going back. We had the T5 spare ribs and CB2 chicken, beef and gyoza.

Love all the Ichis! Came in here Thursday 3/16, the salad rolls were so fat and the shrimp tasted fresh. The counter girl was so nice and did her job really well. Everything else was delish as usual. I also LOVE the music they play at this location!!
