Toured some Luling attractions today and needed some nourishment. Good comfort food. Chicken fried chicken and fried chicken dinners. All good quantities and tasted great. Was in early so there was plenty of seating.

Great traditional resteraunt for a small town Texas atmosphere, that I took my visitor from Turkey to lunch at ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Parking is easy. My visit had outstanding friendly and attentive service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The food was traditional American / Texas food. However, it was bland to very bland. I probably should have asked for some tobasco or something. The fried gator was the best part of the meal, juicy and great texture and breading with a spicy sauce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly and breaded perfectly, great texture ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, but I felt like I had lost my sense of taste eating it ⭐️⭐️. The Mac and cheese and fried okra was also perfectly cooked and amazing texture ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, but tasted like nothing ⭐️⭐️. Ended up covering the meal in yellow mustard and ketchup. My Turkish visitor felt the same way. Would definitely go again, and would take visitors to show them a gem of tradional Texas, but will ask server for some tobasco early on. Since most everything was fried, maybe they switched to one of those healthy oils, or ran out of salt and pepper in the kitchen that day? Weird because you can see how great it looks!

The food is filling but as my son pointed out pretty plain. The server was all smiles and very sweet. Definitely a small town vibe that will evolve with the urban creep that is occurring.

Delicious southern food and our server was the best. She was able to recommend the best things on the menu. The restaurant was clean and tables had plenty of space. The bathroom was clean as well. Worth the drive from the highway.

Phone in order was not turned in to fix until l payed for it . I was told order would be ready in 10 minutes over the phone. As l arrived and paid for my order l noticed my order had not been taken to the kitchen. After waiting for 10 more minutes, l requested my money back but the cook started an argument with me after the cashier gave me money back. Use to be a nice place to eat years ago .

We stopped in on our way home from Wimberley. The food was delicious and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is charming – small town country. The patrons were mostly locals. We love finding local restaurants to eat at whenever we travel, foregoing the common fast food chains whenever we can. Blake’s was a great find!

Blakes has a very friendly atmospere and helpful staff. Almost always has room for more people inside. The food is so fresh and tasty. I always enjoy eating the variety of food that is offered on their menu. Never disappointed or leave hungry!
