Lafayette is well know for many food restaurants, but very few offer Authentic Mexican food fare. Cactus is an explosion of taste with a full menu to try.
It all began in the summer of 2013, when old Maya’s empoyees start dreaming about their own restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana. The founders’ goal was simple. To open not just a restaurant serving delicious, made-from-scratch Mexican food at everyday prices, but a place where guests of all ages could come together to experience the unique flavors, along with the art and culture of Mexico – all in a casual, comfortable setting.
We want to open restaurants from their original dreams share the real Authentic Mexican Cuisine and Culture to our acadiana community.

We’d driven by Cactus often and always wanted to go and finally took the opportunity, and it was great! The food was so delicious, everyone was so nice (they even put Monday night football on for us), and the atmosphere was authentic and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!

My boyfriend took me here last night for my first time, not long before closing. They could have easily turned us away but didn’t. Not only that, the food was delicious and the portions were large. The Cactus nachos were so good! And the staff was great despite us being “those people”. I half expected to be treated like garbage but our experience was the complete opposite. Will 100% be returning and will recommend this spot to others now.

Came here for lunch. My friend enjoyed the 2 for 1 margaritas and the nachos. I had the spinach enchiladas. They were good. I like that they make their tortillas in house. Will be back.
