The best kept secret in Pasadena. It’s my favourite restaurant in the area. The menu is wonderful and everything I’ve eaten was perfectly executed. Great wine list and offering is well priced. Deluxe 1717 is a wonderful French bistro-style restaurant in Pasadena. I’ve been a few times and the food is gourmet quality. Tonight we had Watermelon Poke Salad – a perfect start to the meal on a warm August evening. Then the gnocchi – wow. The atmosphere is wonderful, and that’s due to the attentive, friendly staff and the graciousness and friendly face of the owner, Onil. He is a talented man and so sweet and lovely. This place is a gem. Seek it out and don’t forget the desserts – they’re all incredible!!

I drove by this restaurant last Thursday and saw that it was packed. We decided to give it a try and LOVED it! The Cuban inspired cuisine incredibly fresh and flavorful. Our favorites were the crispy green beans and the Cuban bowl. The staff was incredibly kind and gracious. The genuinely wanted to share their delicious food with us and make sure we were happy and satisfied.

Love this local Pasadena gem! With an array of creative and delicious options for dinner and weekend brunch, prepare for a culinary adventure! Their cuban sandwich is a menu staple for a very good reason, and the quiche served at brunch is ridiculously light and fluffy; you really can’t go wrong with any menu selection. They have a wine list that’s approachable and complex in every way you’d want a wine list to be. Menu items are frequently updated and often showcase seasonal ingredients. They also host phenomenal wine dinners with thoughtful and creative food and wine parings. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service and a wonderful experience. Their outdoor patio is also dog friendly, and there is easy and free street parking. We are all so lucky to have Deluxe 1717 as part of the neighborhood!

My husband and I eat here somewhat regularly because we love this local gem! Everything on the menu we’ve tried has been incredible, but my husband swears by the Cuban sandwich. I’ve tried numerous dishes, and the Arepa Benedict with smoked salmon at brunch is one of my favorites. In addition to the food always being delicious, every person on staff has always been very friendly and helpful. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Amazing food and service! This place is the restaurant gem of Pasadena. You could almost miss an experience here since it’s a bit inconspicuous, but make a point to visit. It’s a perfect ‘any occasion’ place. Relaxed if you want relaxed, and fancy if you want fancy. A good date spot, but also very family friendly. We bring our little one and have a glass of wine and delicious food outside and walk away so happy every time. Steven and the rest of the staff cultivate such a welcoming vibe; go once and you’ll keep coming back.
