My son and I found ourselves in Waltham looking for a quick meal and decided to go to Shanghai Cuisine just off off Moody at 11 Pine Street and we’re glad we did. The menu is authentic Mandarin and Cantonese dishes and I can wait to come back here for some dinner with the family when we have more time as the food looked delicious! My son ordered the crispy orange chicken lunch special and I had the Shanghai pan fried noodles with chicken. When they say “crispy” orange chicken they really mean it. Each piece (and there was a lot of it) was very crispy and covered in a savory and spicy orange sauce. I believe the noodles I had were hand made and the chew on them was perfect and paired so well with all the chicken and Shanghai sauce. There was plenty of open parking on the street when we arrived at around 11:30am. Everyone greeted us with a smile and the service was great! Looking forward to coming back soon!

We stopped by for soup dumplings at the lunch break from college visits. The waitress was definitely from Shanghai since she spoke the dialect. The dumplings were very good and juicy. Not a single dumpling had cracked skin. I also ordered wontons, which was OK but not outstanding. My son loved his Orange Chicken lunch special. This could be a place we come back if we are in town again.

Very good food. Authentic Shanghainese dishes. The Shanghai noodles, soup dumplings, fried pork intestines, sweet and sour ribs were fantastic. Especially the rice cake stir fry non XO version. Do not get the Kung pao chicken, it was not good. great service, but there was a strange smell there.

Went there as a party of 4, ordered a duck dish, a fish dish, a soup dish, and some other Shanghai specialties. Everything was delicious. The “squirrel fish” was very good. Need to call in in advance to order certain fish dishes. We called 3 days before for the “squirrel fish”.

Wanted to give this place another chance because my friend sad she ordered good dishes from here via Weee. I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Bok choy has sand, which happened last time too! Beef stew was not cooked long enough. Shrimp’s black vein was not removed. All dishes are too salty.

We had a very nice experience there for lunch. We had salt & pepper ribs, fish fillet in red chili oil, a fried Shanghau noodle, wonton in Shanghai style, sweat & sour ribs, beancurd soup, and scallion oil noodle. All were very delicious. The price was very reasonable and the portions were also very generous for the main dishes and appetizers. Highly recommend this restaurant.
