Laura was our waitress and her customer service was superb! Gave us samples of fresh fruit waters and went thoroughly through the menu. The sauces(green and red salsa)were watery. The deep fried tacos were fresh but lacked flavor. I will return to try other things. It’s very busy and it seems a lot of people patronize this establishment.

I how have I not seen this place before? It’s small dining area so a large group won’t work. The service was good. Our waitress was also taking care of take out orders so she was quick but patient. I ordered the three taco dinner. The beef was good and so was the shrimp. The chips and salsa was not bottomless. My wife ordered the chicken flautas. We would recommend and we will come back.

Authentic Mexican food in the Detroit metro area is surprisingly hard to find but Jose’s Tacos doesn’t disappoint. Their food is fantastic, fresh, and most importantly authentic. The market location has a lot more space inside for eating and parking is a bit easier compared to their downtown location. Also open ~2 hours later it seems.

Jose’s Tacos is a small restaurant in the Eastern Market area. The staff is friendly and patient. I had two different types of tacos- shredded chicken in soft corn tortillas and a shredded beef birria with cheese. I also tried the Jose’s Snack appetizer – corn tortilla chips with mild salsa, nacho cheese sauce and guacamole. The chicken taco was a little dry but the taste was okay; salsa enhanced the taste. The birria was spot on because the beef was perfectly tender and tasteful.
