Loved it! Food is delicious, we had an amazing first time experience. Definitely will be back again soon. We have to try their pizza.

Girl lunch date with a friend. Opens at noon and “fills up”. It’s not a huge restaurant and not over the top fancy, just a sweet place to have lunch or dinner. It is BYOB. They do tell you that the food comes out as it’s done, so if someone orders a salad and someone else orders pasta then, someone’s going to wait. If you’re one of these that feels weird eating while others watch then order along the same idea. I wanted to try the crab macaroni and cheese but opted for a Cesar salad and calorie splurged by sharing the “Oh my sweet Ricotta”. No one was in a hurry to push us out and were quick to take our order. Seating is available outside but because we’re “old ladies” we don’t like to sweat so we opted

Quick Review: Their pasta is definitely made in house and that’s a major plus. Service was decent and despite it being very busy we were called fairly quickly. That said, we also feel like because they were busy their service and quality suffered a bit.

Cafe Carmela reminds me of growing up eating my grandma’s and mom’s homemade Italian cooking. The food is hot and fresh when it comes to the table and I really appreciate that they don’t skimp on ingredients. Best cheesesteak in Philadelphia – no doubt. Best pizza in the city too. Much better than alot of overpriced places downtown. They are always warm and welcoming. There may be a wait at times, but that’s how you know it’s good and it is very much worth the wait. I also appreciate all of the photos they have up – reminds me of my grandma’s house growing up. This is traditional old school Italian cooking with a flare.

All the rave reviews are true!!! This restaurant is outstanding. I went with friends and we will all definitely be back. The food was delicious from the appetizer’s to desert. Can’t wait to go back and try the pizza. From hostess, waitress a d other staff when we were leaving wishing us a good night everyone was friendly and professional. Run, don’t walk to Cafe Carmela, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent as always. Food comes out quick and delicious. The Cooper sharp cheese steak is to die for it’s so good. Also shared a Maggs pizza which I highly recommend. I’m glad I live around the corner so I can be close to this place.

With the new location, it’s definitely worth a visit. It can get crowded, so be patient. The parking lot is kind of a mess but it works. We didn’t wait long to be seated.

Had the pleasure of having dinner with my family at the new Cafe Carmela location. The eggplant parm and cheese steak were our main courses. We also got the fried mozzarella and a salad to start.

We walked in about 20 min before closing, not knowing but still seated us. We were greeted as we walked in and even when we were leaving. Our waitress was very professional and explained about menu and gave us suggestions. Our pizza was excellent, we had The Maggs and came out well done just the way we liked it. Overall great dining experience, can’t wait to return to try other dishes!

The food was great. The service, could use some attention. Ordered mozzarella sticks, fries and two sandwiches. Would have been nice to have hot fries with the sandwiches. But they brought the fries first so we were forced to eat them before the sandwiches came. But like I said, the sanwiches were legit. Probably better to get take-out than dine in.
