Stopped in to grab breakfast on my layover to Tampa, initially passed by because they had people waiting in a line but returned to find the line gone but there was still a minor (30 minute) wait for service. I was still seated immediately, just had to wait to put in my order.

I originally ordered the fried green tomatoes against my better judgment and they were fried well, very unseasoned and not ripe enough. The dipping sauce was bland and I was going to power through it but it was literally like eating textured air. I usually hate sending food back so I doused it in salt and planned on changing the dipping sauce to ranch, but upon my unpleasant experience, my wife advised our server/bartender (Taylor) I wasn’t a fan and she immediately replaced my order with French toast with out me having to ask for anything and changed the ticket immediately. If there’s one thing I appreciate, it’s an employee who is fluent in problem solving. Taylor made our experience very pleasant and the French toast ended up being very good. We take many of flights and we usually fly through BWI so we will definitely be back.

The food was delicious. I had good (not great) service but 3 tables beside me did not. The table to the right did not get what she ordered and by the time it came out, she had to take it to go. There was a gentleman behind me who paid for his food, but it never came out, and a couple to the left sat before me and were served after me.

Food was awesome, service was HORRIBLE as our server, Joshua, was extremely inconsistent. It took us over 10 min to be seated and they were NOT busy (not his fault). After we were seated we waited around until he finally introduced himself and took our drink orders. It was another 10 min until he showed his face again to take our orders after he passed our table a minimum of ten times as we tried to get his attention. He took our food order and we never saw him again at our table until someone had to tell him to stop at our table so we could pay because I had to wave someone down. I noticed as he was taking other people’s orders he was asking if they had any food allergies and realized that was never asked to us. We don’t, but what if we did? He never even asked. Even after both myself AND another service told him I was ready to pay and leave, he made me wait for ANOTHER 15 min before he even acknowledged me again. I MAY try another location, but he out a BAD taste in my mouth and ruined what was supposed to be a good first experience for me.

It’s ok. Need more seasoning. I’m not here for the HBP seasoning. I need flavor. How your bloody Mary don’t have flavor? Tasted like it was watered down. Absolutely no spice. Chicken and cheddar onion waffles was tasty. Prefer more seasoning on the chicken. Fried green tomatoes had no flavor. Right texture but no flavor. But with the salsa it was tasty. I prefer without anything extra. Turkey BLT….. if you want flavor ask for the condiments on the side or have them make it how you want it. It will be slightly dry without flavor. Portion size is great! I get they maybe limited on how the food can be seasoned as you don’t want people using the restroom on the planes but goodness! I don’t pay for bland or mediocre. People should know what they can and can’t handle. With a name like Miss Shirley’s I was expecting HBP diabetes giving food. But it’s all good. It was koo for airport food.
