So thrilled to find this sweet little Mediterranean restaurant in Topeka Kansas has gluten-free pita bread and several different options. The stuffed olive leaves are to die for. The hummus gyro Sandwich yummmmm I couldn’t even get a picture of the whole thing it smelled too good!

We went there at 6:00 pm on a Friday. This was such a disappointment. We ordered Fatayer, shawarma sandwich and falafel sandwich. The sandwiches were wrapped in flour tortillas instead of pita. The fatayer was reheated in the microwave and dry. The fries were undercooked. There was really nothing Mediterranean about the food. The shawarma had some chicken. Some white sauce and PICKLES!!! I didn’t Wang the fries but they were out of rice and salad, so they gave me a Mediterranean hotdog, it was a small hotdog in bread. Nothing really Mediterranean about this place. Very disappointed.

I quite enjoyed my experience today at the Olive Cafe. I found their prices not to be very high when compared to other Mediterranean restaurants in the region. I ordered the falafel and hummus sandwich and a side of French fries, as well as a can of sprite. I appreciate the fair prices and the food was very good. The restaurant and washrooms are cleanly. This being my first time at this establishment I wasn’t sure what to expect, however I was pleasantly surprised. I plan to visit the olive cafe again and will probably be interested in trying some other dishes as well.

The gyros are amazing, the bread is warm and soft. If you love hummus then this is the place to get it, probably some of the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend and glad we have this place. Give it a shot and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Very excited to try out the new Greek restaurant in town. Everything was great, a bit pricey, but in this day and age,it was reasonable for the quality. We ordered grape leaves and gyro plates. The grape leaves were mostly rice filled. Both the fries and the grape leaves had what I think was sumac powder dusted on them. (Unique and tasty.) The gyros (husband ordered lamb, I did beef) were filled to overflowing with meat and sauce. The sauce was minty and fresh tasting but lacked the cucumber component. This might just be their recipe. Overall a positive experience. I think they might need an expansion already – place was packed and very limited on a Saturday downtown. 🙂

It blew my mind. My wife had told me I needed to try it and she was right (like always). I encourage you to try their beef shawarma, it was excellent!

This was so good! The Falafel and Hummus sandwich was great. I didn’t realize it would be served with fries but that was perfect! The fries are absolutely delightful. Very light but tasty.

My bestie and I finally had the opportunity to try this place out. When we first walked in, we were hit with the wonderful fragrance common to Mediterranean food. The place was very clean. There were beautiful stained glass light fixtures that I couldn’t keep my eye off. The colors flowed together perfectly. There a quaint meeting area in the back. Hope you don’t mind sitting on the cushions on the floor. We will do that next time. But the food, for starters we had grape leave, and baba Ghanouji! The flavors were wonderful. They blended together for the ultimate experience. We had the Gyro sandwich and Beef Shawarmah. The sandwich was enough to eat half then and take the rest home. If you are a coffe lover and need a good boost, try the Turkish coffee in a beautiful little coffe cup. Beautiful We had to top it off with dessert, of course we had to try the baklava. But we were given a complimentary Warbat. The owner said we would be happy eating it. And I would say we left happy. We had a wonderful conversation with the owner as if we were long time friends. We will definitely be back! We love the diversity that is slowly making it’s way into Topeka.
