First time to dine at Butcher & Wife and I can easily say it’s now my absolute favorite spot. I love the location and parking was easy peasy. There were families enjoying their meals as well as couples, so inviting to everyone. The decor was clever and a fabulous ambiance. I loved that you can make a reservation to sit at the bar, which is what we did. Fabulous mixologist (I think his name is Michael?). I enjoyed a basil-cucumber martini. Our server was delightful. I ordered a cantaloupe prosciutto burrata salad for my app and the beat salad for dinner. If you’re a vegan, there’s plenty to choose from and if you’re not, bingo! We watched the pizzas being made and they looked delicious too. I took a sneak photo of a dessert going out…next time! I look forward to returning and I highly recommend.

Baker and Wife Restaurant is more than just a dining destination; it’s a culinary adventure crafted by the talented hands of Chef Isaak, undoubtedly the best chef in Sarasota. The moment you step inside, the European atmosphere embraces you, as the aromas of amazing meals like meatloaf, pizza with prosciutto, Georgian khachapuri with cheese, and perfectly cooked steak fill the air.

An absolute gem! Despite having explored the entire menu, I find myself eagerly anticipating the day I can return to Baker and Wife. The incredible fusion of delicate flavors, meticulously balanced ingredients, and the elegantly simple presentation is something I’m already yearning for.

My very first time there. Why did I wait so long? Amazing meal! From the seasonal fresh fruit Margarita to the Caesar salad, Scallops with risotto, calamari, and the desserts…OMG the desserts! The flourless chocolate cake was out of this world! And the service was top notch! I can’t wait to go back. Hats off to the Chef! Incredible experience.

This was our first time dining at Baker and Wife and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was wonderful. The cocktails were delicious and the food was scrumptious. While I would say my salmon main course was a lighter portion, everything else was spot on. Great for a date night or celebrating.

We really love coming here! I love the atmosphere, the service is good, the menu is good, it’s just a fun spot! It’s a great place for the family or a date. The wine menu is great. The ambiance is so fun it’s very pretty. They have outdoor dining. Although they don’t have a huge menu they certainly accommodate requests! The pasta is made in house and is super delicious!

I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad, which was outstanding. My husband had the Tiger shrimp, which were beautiful. Be warned, however, the noodles are very spicy. He couldn’t eat them. I like spicy and they were too spicy for me as well.

So at the suggestion of a local couple we tried Baker and Wife last night for a 6:30 seating. The reservation was handled promptly and the service was good. The food however was a different story. It was not good, and that is being kind. I love meatloaf so every time I see it on the menu I order it. The “meatloaf” turned out to be a tiny burnt, dry loaf of burger smothered in what tasted like bottled BBQ sauce, topped by three oil soaked, old, burnt onion rings over a small bed of instant mashed potatoes with 3 little slices of pepper. All you could taste was massive amounts of cheap sauce. My wife had the Mushroom Rigatonni Bolognese which consisted of 2 tablespoons of absolutely tasteless mushrooms over a very small amount of boxed Rigatoni. At the start of the meal the waiter asked if we would like some bread. What we got was 6 little slices of burnt pizza dough sprinkled with olive oil and dry herbs for $8.00. My wife complained and the waiter kindly reduced the bill slightly. I don’t complain, I just never go back. With all of the good restaurants we have available in Sarasota don’t waste your time and money on this one.

What a delightful experience! I was impressed that the hostess called me to confirm the reservation for 4 at the bar and then called me back a few minutes later, due to a cancellation, and offered us a table for 4. (Sometimes old school just works!)

Chose Baker & Wife for my birthday dinner with my husband and another couple. Everything was fantastic. Good service, great options—it was tough to choose just a few! And the prices were reasonable for the quality and presentation. We ordered the tuna tartar & beet app, which were flavorful. I did feel the tuna tartar app (and actually every order, but quality made up for it imo) was a bit small for the price. You only get 3 wontons, so not enough to share. The beet app was delicious. I ordered the salmon for my main entree and it was cooked to perfection and the flavor was outstanding. Hubby’s burger was yummy. Fries were just okay but i LOVE French fries so I’m picky. Our friends split the brie pizza special and the shrimp pasta entree. We devoured everything and left no room for dessert. Craft cocktails were so pretty! Excellent presentation. Highly recommend for a special night out. Ps. They don’t do anything special for birthdays if you’re looking for that. It wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but something to note for others :). I took a star off for service, as we had to ask a few times for water refill but that is so minor—just didn’t find it 5-star service, which to me, means beyond reproach and above & beyond. One star off for atmosphere as chairs were hard & uncomfortable and the tables are so close, we had to jostle and move every time someone from a neighboring table wanted to get up. We are petite, so no biggie for us, but if you are larger or have any mobility issues, this might not be a comfortable option.
