Outdoor patio and tables on deck overlooking back and river. Patio is covered. Parking on top area as well as down near river. Lobster bisque $8 Warm and looked like white broth consistency. French onion. $8 Good cheese. Beef broth ok. Used croutons. Cob salad large and presented well. $15 chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts. No walnuts nor cranberries. But ok. Service. Saw our wait staff 4 times. Took order for beer, order for food, filled water glasses. 1 1/2 hours later dropped off bill.

So man alive, ,the French onion soup is delicious. I’m a soup person so this is a big deal to me. Got a flight of beer just to give everything a taste and was incredibly pleased with their location offerings. The Kent Falls Brewing and Woodbury Brown Ale were especially delicious.

Surprise visit while vagabonding through Connecticut. Sat at the bar, nice atmosphere, friendly people. My beer was fresh and cold. House wine was nice, per my wife! I had the lobster roll-nicely toasted bun, fresh, firm lightly dressed lobster-fries well done of course. Can’t remember having better!! Don’t remember what my wife had as I was too in to my lobster roll. Hope to pass through Washington Depot again!

Love this ambiance and old style place. It has an antique door! Very cozy fireplace and cute interior but wow it gets overly packed and busy! Could use some more hours to accommodate all the customers or even some way to restructure the tables because it gets so very busy. Yummy good tavern food good French fries and decent fresh dessert.

We eat here often. The food is always good, great specials especially in season seafood specials. Craft beer and wines by the glass always great. Even with very large parties the restaurant is never noisy, so nice to dine here!

Gws is the best, cozy, welcoming environment. Our party of three arrived on a Friday evening without reservations and were warmly greeted and seated on the out of doors terrace. It was like a dream. Great variety on menu burgers, salads and entrees with a flexible set of prices. Well stop by soon.

I had an incredibly disturbing, xenophobic encounter with staff in this establishment. In town visiting my friend’s family, we decided to go out to dinner. When asked about food restrictions, I mentioned to our server that I don’t pork. I had asked for the Hudson Valley Duck Salad without the usual bacon. Alas, the dish came out with bacon on it, and I confided that I don’t eat pork for religious reasons. I requested if they could remake the dish while my friend and her family started with their courses. I could see the annoyance in my server’s face.
