I was happy to find a drive-thru coffee shop right off the I-8 in what sometimes feels like the middle of nowhere. I was also happy to find out they’re a good coffee shop in what feels like the middle of nowhere. The sole employee early in the morning worked her tail off to cut down the line. She was very nice, personable, and patient. Their iced Mexican mocha with oat milk was a perfect compliment to their muffins.

The line was very long with 5 cars ahead at 6am but we decided to wait. AM barista was very confrontational. When receiving the 2 drinks, we asked to clarify the order. My boyfriend accepted the drink even tho it was incorrect and I kindly asked her to remake my drink with Almond milk like I originally asked. She told me I never said that and that I need to specifically state that next time. Terrible customer service especially when she messed up both orders and refused to take any accountability for it. Instead she wanted to blame me while being extremely hostile. I would never recommend this place to anyone after receiving my second drink and it tasting very bitter. I assume she took too long to pour the shot as her demeanor seemed to not care about anything – which explains the long wait initially. We ended up going to another coffee shop and had a much better experience. Do not go here unless you expect a bitter woman who looks like she just rolled out of bed.

Did our pilgrimage out to Cafe Adesso after Java Joe’s No-No. We got the Joe Musgrove #44 Vanilla Iced Coffee. AMAZING!! Definitely surprised at how much we liked it. Even met Diane which was a nice added bonus.

This the best place for coffee in Alpine, CA! Off the I-8 Tavern Rd. exit, on the north side of the freeway by the Shell station. It is far superior in quality and price to Starbucks. The employees are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!
