While on a walk I stopped in to get some food to-go. I remember coming here as a kid and it was amazing… this was not… I got a Greek omelet, corned beef hash and a chocolate chip waffle for my daughter. The omelet tasted plasticky and barely had egg. The corned beef hash was super dry and a super small amount for $5. The waffle just had chocolate chips sitting on top of it. I was pretty disappointed none of it tasted very good but the service was still amazing.

Shady Glen is a hidden gem! Went for breakfast and I got a Monte Cristo sandwich with home fries. The sandwich had actual sliced turkey and ham rather than deli meat and it was on Texas toast style french toast. YUM. Home fries were a little under done for me (I prefer them a little crispy) but the flavor was great. Nothing was over salted which is rare these days. Will definitely be going back.

This is a family owned and cozy kind of place. They don’t have much help so you may have to wave for a coffee refill, but that’s because the woman bringing you that coffee is providing service to all the tables and bar seating. She’s very busy tending to everyone’s needs and making them all feel welcome like they are distant family and friends they haven’t seen in awhile. The man cooking is super friendly and actually cares that everyone’s enjoying the foods he made them. And no matter how fancy of places we have gone on vacations, we always come right back here to Shady Glen for breakfast when we get back. The reason for this is because the breakfast here is always cooked correctly and delicious. Other places seem to let us down when it comes to quality and taste of breakfast. Never underestimate how important properly cooked eggs and a friendly environment can have on starting your day. Also they grill an amazing tasting bagel that reminds me of going here for breakfast with my friends decades ago before school, whenever we had a delay. So when you just want a down to earth, no frills, (except a few adorable plants) cozy and friendly place with a satisfying breakfast, this is a good place to make some memories over a coffee with friends.

I use to come here all the time with my Dad ! This place had a good feel when I came to get something to eat! Get good memories from the time with memories of the time with my Dad I will get back with reinactment feel when here. I don’t think it’s Good as it use to be anymore ! This place could be much BETTER than it is now ! Don’t got that Good Feeling like it used to be anymore! Breakfast lunches and dinners are what Full Fledged Good Cooking is and now I can’t get it here anymore cuz your doors close B4 Lunch hours are even OVER ! I would be open for dinner hours on the weekends Thursday-Sunday ! Got a beer and Wine license make money with it cuz beer and Breakfast don’t get service ! Work Smarter Not Harder! I miss my Dinners and Memories !

If you’re looking for some of the best breakfast food in the area, then you’ve found the right place. Hands down one of the best biscuits and sausage gravy dish I’ve had, 2nd best to Johnny D’s in South Carolina. Overall quality of the dish was superb. The texture was perfect and the blend of spices was flawless.
