It’s a student run place and the food was great. I have been here quite a few times. We also got a chance to try their thanksgiving buffet. It was simply great. I got a lot of vegetarian options. The food was very fresh. Their tomato pie topped everything else I had here. The price is adorable for a 4 course meal. Their menu changes.

This review is for McCutchen House’s summer Garden Grill, which is the grill outside of McCutchen House, put on by UofSC hospitality students. The grill always smells so good, stand in line on the brick path through the bushes, decide on a menu item (comes with a drink – lemonade, sweet or unsweet tea, or water), most items come with fruit (or double fruit) slice, pasta salad or chips for $12 plus tax. Ask for a card to get stamped at each visit. They also have gift certificates! This time we had burger (your choice of cheese and condiments) and 2 coney dog special. Really enjoy the pasta salad. Go support UofSC hospitality students!

The atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the food are worth a visit. For $14 a person you are given so much to try and taste. They started with tomato pie mini tart and a cheddar cheese biscuit. I had a salad and the mahi-mahi followed up by the chocolate walnut tart. They food was good, fish was room temperature, rice a little over cooked but the flavors and plating were very appetizing. For a fun experience it is 100% worth it. Remember this is a training for students in the hospitality and food industry, so they may forget the butter or to ask if you want coffee, but super friendly and attentive when asked.

I don’t know what’s better the food or the customer service.

Delicious food, student run with Hospitality Management School. The bang for your buck is incredible. The tomato pies alone are worth the 12/13 bucks you’ll pay for lunch. It comes with biscuits, tomato pies, soup or salad, entrée options that change with the seasons and incredible chocolate pecan pie. Please give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

I’ve been there twice now in the last year. It’s a “4 dollar signs” level of experience for a 1 dollar sign level of price! Best of both worlds.

Great food! Wonderful service! Excellent atmosphere! Oh and the price for the delicious food was better than the 5 stars I have dined at in L.A. and some places in NYC! You get the best in Gamecock city!!!!!!
