Let me start by saying we showed up 5 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. This was totally by accident, and once we realized we apologized profusely and tipped the staff as much as we had on us. Even though it was a total jerk move on our part, the staff treated us super well and made us feel at home.

Their food was fresh made, tastey, and over priced. Some how for an adult and two kids meals the bill was $45. Most Mexican restaurants include chips and salsa with the meal, but I don’t mind a nominal charge, $4.50 for 1 bowl of chips seems extreme. As I looked through the bill it became clear that the food was about 30% more expensive than comparable restaurants. All this and their suggested tip was 20% as I’m ordering from a counter. After all that I was positive at least the portions would be large, I was mistaken.

Authentic Mexican food!! The chips were fresh, I loved the salsa not too spicy just the way I like it. I could tell they make their tortillas in house. My favorite was the carnitas tacos and they gave a great portion. My husband and I are definitely coming back!

We are visiting Berthoud for the day and saw Benny’s Tacos from the corner of our eye. We’re glad we tried it! Service was good, food was out rather quick and it tasted delicious. And the prices were fair, which is hard to come by these days. We’ll be back.

I hate to be the one leaving bad reviews on one of the only places to get food in Berthoud. The food here is not good at all. It’s extremely overpriced for how good it is. Also, they charge for chips and salsa (the salsa is actually terrible). I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant and paid for chips and salsa… one burrito, chips/salsa, and a drink was 25$. I could never recommend this place to anyone
