A great resturant. The crab cake was delicious. Salmon and trout were very good. The souffle was amazing.

Superlatives all around. The atmosphere was elegant and welcoming, the classical guitarist set a really nice tone for room. Megan, our server, did an excellent job. She shined in part because the kitchen wowed us with presentation and flavor. The wine list is exemplary. We will be back. Julius and the Team. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We really enjoyed our experience in here. The Queen Anne style of both the exterior and interior is absolutely gorgeous. The hostess was so welcoming and friendly. Our server was very charismatic and attentive to our needs. He was sociable with us and made us feel at home. We had the poutine, cliff house burger, and the appetizer was a sweet potato gnocchi with a wild mushroom ragout. The flavors were all perfectly paired and all the food was prepared so well.

Came here for dessert and wine both nights of our stay, and I cannot recommend the Baked Alaska enough! George was fantastic, and very personable and welcoming. Eating here was one of the best highlights of our trip to Manitou Springs 🙂

I highly recommend dinner at the Cliff House – the food was excellent and the wait staff was wonderful (attentive, without being overbearing). I had the salmon entree – delicious, and baked Alaska for dessert – also delicious. The classical guitar player was exceptionally talented. I ordered dessert just so I could enjoy his music longer! (I believe he’s there Friday evenings – don’t miss it!)

First and foremost it was a very fun night and we enjoyed our time overall. But being objective, I have to say the service was very strange and frenetic. Our waiter was so frenetic that it seemed like his duties as a waiter were secondary to whatever else he had going on in his mind. He would be taking our order and basically doing a jazz square with his feet while we asked questions in order. Lots of mistakes lots of mumbling, lots of dropping glasses of water and forgetting our appetizer etc. The manager seemed very mad at the server who was very overwhelmed but he also made several mistakes including knocking over our Bread Basket then picking up the bread with his bare hands and putting it back in the basket rather than replacing it and pouring wine down the side of the bottle while serving it. Honestly the food was delicious, albietvery old school. The funniest part was the big deal that was made about us coming for my husband’s birthday. They made sure several times to comment about the special table they were giving us and the quiet space they wanted us to be in , but When they brought the dessert which they did charge us for (which is fine) they wrote happy anniversary on the brim of the dessert plate. We were dying laughing to the point of tears. Was jyst the perfect ending to a really weird experience. In the end so glad we went but probably won’t go back.

They no longer put baskets so delicious bread on the table. I really miss that. I ordered a spinach salad which was quite expensive and there was barely anything there. I was so hungry or ordered dessert but it never came. High prices mediocre food it is really gone downhill from the days when I enjoyed it so much. The service was incredibly slow but Pleasant

Completely underwhelming. Was on a solo trip and thus, dining alone mid-week. The dining room was only about 15% occupied, and they tried to first seat me in a window-less side room that was incredibly hot due to the fireplace. I asked to be seated in the main dining area instead. So that got me a table next to the kitchen doorway, but at least I could see windows (across the rows of empty tables). Amuse and appetizer of onion soup were quite good, but my filet (ordered medium) was delivered rare bordering on blue. As they took it back to the kitchen I heard another server ask mine “too rare again?” so apparently this is a re-occurring problem. They re-fired the steak, and 2nd time around the cook on it was perfect. Problem now was the taste. The demi-glace tasted of nothing but oil somehow, and overall the seasoning on the steak was very bland. Ordered creme brulee to end the evening, and it was honestly the worst I’ve ever had. Tasted like boxed vanilla pudding, instead of the usual eggy custard, and extremely sweet. Only thing saving this from even fewer stars was the sommelier and wait staff. They were very helpful and attentive. Such a disappointment for such a lovely hotel!
