On May 20, 2023, I dined at OPA! with a group of about 24–26. (My first time there.) We were all given the Garlic Knots for an appetizer, which were hot and delicious! (Like garlic bread, only better!)

I’ve been twice. First tike all was great. Second time we ordered and it took an hour to get our food. 3 tables that arrived and ordered after us, received their food 20-30 minutes before we did. Why? The food is good but I’m not sure we could visit again with hungry kids.

My wife & I were very impressed with OPA! We got a combo appetizer with mozzarella sticks, homemade fried ravioli, & some mini garlic knots which were fabulous, 2 Greek salads, 2 entrees, & 2 pieces of chocolate cheesecake. My wife got the manicotti which she really enjoyed & I got the creamy steak debourgo which had fantastic flavor! The drinks were good & very well made. She got a classic strawberry daiquiri & I got a raspberry mule. The service was very good even with them being very busy that evening. Overall it was a very good dining experience!

I made a reservation because many times we’ve waited for a table quite a while, and they had a table waiting for us. Our server was at our table promptly. We took advantage of the happy hour, specials with Greek wine and beer. Our meals arrived at a quickly time after ordering, 10-12 minutes. I love their gyros especially with the side salad, topped with Greek dressing. My husband had the Greek lasagna and very nice spinach field filled sides. We decided to forgo dessert, but next time we will consider. The restaurant is as clean as it can get-it is showing signs of being a little worn out due to the high volume of hungry patrons coming through. We left happy with the quality and tastiness of our meals and service.

Delicious food! Wonderful staff. We had the onion rings which were crispy and flavorful! I had the Greek lasagna and my fiancée had the Greek trio. All of the food was delectable. The service was out of this world!! My water glass remained full the whole time and our waitress was very attentive and super sweet!! We will definitely be back and bring our family and friends here!

If you are looking for delicious Italian cuisine and you are in the Des Moines Iowa area, you have to stop in at OPA! Friendly and helpful staff atmosphere was a little loud but was manageable. Indoor and outdoor seating with a warm, inviting decor. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I love love love this place. The food is delicious. Everything is fresh and tasty. They have the best buffet in the metro in my opinion. They are so nice and accommodating. We come here at least once a week and we’re never disappointed. Their garlic rolls are soooo good!! And the owner is very much involved in day to day operations and is always available and so nice. Truly just the best local spot.
