Interesting place. I do have to say, part of the interest in stopping here was having a sign that said Benny’s “Italian Mexican”. Not Italian “and” Mexican. So I thought…. Is there some sort of weird combination of the 2? The answer is no. So if you wanted to know that answer, now you do. It’s a place that has a mix of Italian dishes and also Mexican dishes. Kinda different to see those together, but hey, no one really cares as long as they find a good meal they like, right? So, the server we had was new, and for being so, she did a good job. The owner/manager was sort of shadowing to ensure customers were taken care of as well. So service was pretty good. Food was decent, prepared well and came out warm, however, my personal pallet felt things were fairly bland. I got some soft tacos, and she got spaghetti, but we both shared, so I have insight on both. Personally, my cooking of both of these possess a lot more flavor, and when I go out to eat, I like my food to be every bit as good and flavorful as home, if not better. That being said, for what they prepare, they do a good job with what we ate, they just lacked some flavor. That being said, I would certainly consider coming back to try some additional meals that sounded good to see what kind of experience I had with those. It’s a nice little mom and pop with a lot of choices, so I’d still think you may want to stop by and see what you think.

Frozen meatballs, canned marinara, although the portion was HUGE the breading falls off the chicken fry steak. Mash potatoes are just add water flavored with butter. Salad came straight out of a bag but the gave me a half a slice tomato on it and a ranch vinegar dressing. The service was AMAZING. The waitress gave the perfect timed service. The price was ridiculous for boxed and bagged and frozen though. I’m glad I didn’t have to do dishes. Won’t be back.

If you go to this place for the Mexican food, don’t bother. After driving all the way from Bedford to eat here, we were greeted by a sign on the door saying they were “out of Mexican food”. A woman inside told us the REAL problem is lack of help and that the owner actually had to come in (gasp) and help with the serving. Of course, that wasn’t while we were there. We went back and found another restaurant. It will be a cold day in July before we go out of our way to eat at this place.

I cannot remember ever having chicken fried chicken this good. I took 1 bite just to see and did not stop until it was gone. The crazy thing is that I was not even hungry. I was sad and wanted comfort food. The waitress Joy was such a Blessing. She had the whole place hopping and everyone acting like old friends even though no one had ever met. I literally ate the whole thing before getting a picture. You will just have to let my empty plate speak for itself.
