We made a reservation earlier in the week for tonight and had a superb experience. Hosea answered all our questions and we enjoyed leaving it to the chef for our Omakase meal! I enjoyed getting to try things I wouldn’t have normally chosen and everything was delicious. It was a great night out with girlfriends, and would be a perfect date night too.

Friday night reservations at 730. Seated on time, and ended up dining for two hours with my favorite. Mr. Kim’s is a subtle entrance that doesn’t scream here I am. Inside is moody and dark, a bit loud at times, and well appointed for the smaller sized place. Tables are placed at a good distance to not feel like you are on top of each other, still a struggle to talk across the table at times due to the noise level.

Want a new experience? Cook your own meal on an open flame, right at the table. Season the grill with Kobe beef fat, add some mushrooms, marinated sea bass, and pork belly. Dribble the pork belly fat over the mushrooms and voila, dinner.

Read that the head chef was up for the James Beard Award, so decided to stop in. The food was phenomenal and the service was amazing. They will cook the meats for you, or allow you to cook them for yourself. We went with the chef special, in which they chose the appetizer, course and dessert for you.

You damn sure don’t get what you paid for, my husband and I ate here with a friend we paid $125 a plate they paid for themselves and me and my husband bought some of their dumplings. Our total was like $268 for just my husband and myself for them to bring out like a 3in x1/3 in slice of each kind of meat the offered (I think it’s like 8 different kinds of meat) , while the food was flavorful it’s not worth the price they charge for it. The restaurant itself was nice but save yourself the almost $300 and go somewhere you’ll get your moneys worth because it isn’t here.

We came in to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary and I have to say, it was amazing. The chef special was wonderful and each plate brought a new experience. From the oyster and lobster dumplings to the variety of meats and drinks, we enjoyed every tasty minute and would definitely come again.

An EXPERIENCE! Brain is spinning. Ambience, yes please. Great wait staff, uh, INCREDIBLE wait staff. Cocktail selection, pour us another. Menu, UNBELIEVABLE. Like explorers we navigated the evening touring foods that left our taste buds abused in all the right ways. It would be k”i’m”possible to have had a better experience.

Mr. Kim’s is a fantastic take on Korean BBQ, but with an American twist! Dim atmosphere is perfect for a date. Expect your experience here to be a little longer than conventional restaurants, since you’re cooking your food at the table bite-by-bite.
