It was a great & amazing 1st time at this restaurant. A beautiful & blessed area right on the river to eat & enjoy the evening. Our waitress Gabrielle was super sweet & attentive. Such a sweet heart she is. And the people around super nice that a woman offered to take a pic of me & my hubby. Food was super duper delicious. Most definitely coming back. One of the most enjoyable restaurant to go! Our waiter was Jamie (spelling??)! He was a great waiter! While we decided what to order I noticed the care he was giving all his customers. I was amazed at how well he communicated and the top of the line service! Our meals were top of the line and cooked to perfection! I have always wanted to say this, “my complements to the chef!!!” Very beautifully done!”

We had dinner at Stumpknockers the end of June, 2023. We arrived and fortunately they were not very busy. We were seated and had a decent view of the water. We decided to sit inside, even though it probably would have been nicer outside. The restaurant has a nice, in the woods, cabin type atmosphere and frankly reminded me a lot of back home a while back.

We were craving seafood and this place was close by so we gave it a try. It was ok. Fried gulf shrimp and fries were very good. Snow crab was ok but I would have liked some flavor to them besides butter. Service was ok, we had to keep asking server for additional drinks but I liked the hot lemon water for my hands after eating the crab. It seems fried dishes are their focus, so if you are craving anything beyond that maybe try elsewhere.

Nice place. Decent food. To check off a bucket list item of trying gator, I ordered the gator steak with Louisiana sauce. It was like having chicken Parmigiano. The clam chowder was yummy, and all our foods were beautifully plated.
