My kids and I go camping at IL beach state park and inevitably end up eating a meal or two at this McDonald’s every time. It is one of the nicest McDonald’s we’ve been to – well maintained inside and out with nice landscaping around a collection of outdoor tables perfect for eating an ice cream sundae. The staff is so friendly they just treated my daughter to a free ice cream. Really great resource to have so close to the campground!

My hash brown was soggy. I called several times to tell them to check their fryer oil, but no answer and no voicemail. Pancakes and sausage were pretty good. I’ll go to a different McDonald’s for my next breakfast.

Our order kept getting messed up while trying to place it. Wrong drinks, wrong sizes, that sort of thing. Eventually, we were able to get our order in, but they still gave us the wrong size drink. I tried to point it out, but it was just not getting through, and it wasn’t worth trying to continue to get the guy to understand. Other than that, the food was good and served hot and our drinks were cold.

Unfortunately, the change in demographics has gotten to the point where you will not be giving your order to an English speaker. Giving them anything more complicated than the number can really throw things off. We went over our order twice. My son was sitting in the car and said “watch they’re going to get it wrong”. Couldn’t get them to leave the mustard off of the burger like we asked. The English speaking guy at the pay window, changed the order to reflect the request but in the end the order was delivered wrong at the pickup window. So, back inside.

Ordered a McDouble bundle and the fries were not cooked correctly they were cold and soggy ruined my appetite. I called to fix the problem and the manager didn’t help me at all she just kept telling me that she was cooking everything fresh so I told her no my fries are cold and they look white she still tried to argue with me and when I ask who am I speaking too she said the manager I asked for her name and she kept going on that it was impossible that she cooked everything fresh I told her maybe one of your employees took it out the fryer too soon and she said no. She told me to come in and show her the fries and I told her no it’s too late it’s a inconvenience for me because this was my 30 min break and it was just terrible service and food, the manager never solved my problem instead tried to argue with me and tell me I’m wrong 1 star for me.

There are a million McDonald’s. But not all are as great as this place in terms of customer service. If I have an issue the address and fix it if they can. I come here regularly for coffee so I know their attentiveness isn’t in relation to the size of my order. They allow my service dog and they always make him feel welcome. I tell them I always come to this McDonald’s as opposed to the one that’s closer to where I stay. They make me feel okay even though I know I could be one of those pain in the butt customers. Bravo to the management and staff. I’ve eaten it a lot of high-end restaurants over the years and it’s kind of weird that the most sincere post I’ve written out of the very few.
