Wife and I ordered the Tostones, beef pastelillos, and relleno de papas, along with the flan and bread pudding for dessert. Absolutely amazing. Truly authentic Puerto Rican food. Homemade food takes time to make. You can get quick frozen food elsewhere. It’s made from scratch and just like Abuela used to make, and it’s priced just right. I’m only disappointed I ordered only 2 pastelillos because I devoured them. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Absolutely delicious!! I was driving through the area and El Coqui caught my eye. I got the chicken stew with beans and rice (with gandules). SO delicious!! Tasted just like a home cooked meal. You won’t regret it!

Family Puerto Rican business. Times are hard and I understand the price of food has gone up. My mother and I went there for lunch and to take out. Place was clean and the family was friendly. Tostonas and Sweet yellow plantains were good. I ordered the white rice pink beans and roasted chicken. It was just ok. Lacking flavor. My mother ordered white rice and beef stew. My mother is from Puerto Rico. She cooks better Puerto Rican food than El Coqui.

Happy to see a Puerto Rican restaurant opening in the Hudson valley. Wishing you the best. Food showcase small not all of the most ordered foods on display. Place was small but clean. We visited on Father’s day. Ordered Stew pig feet with garbanzos which had abt 5 garbanzos n no potatoes n stew chicken. Both bland in favor. Liquid foods should be packed in a plastic container not in a carbon one. Juices were seeping through top of container.Potions are very small for the price. My mom always said when u cook, cook tasty not salty, serve plenty so yr guest leave full and happy and will want to come again.

WeePaa!!! Went in there to get some food before church. I had rice , beans , and some baked chicken. Delicious !! Love this place . Can’t wait to go back and have some more ! I also tried the pork . It’s just like how abuela used to make it . I was happy to see they sell cake and Puerto Rican merchandise !! I’m coming to buy my flag ! WeePaa!!!!❤️

As a Puerto Rican, I was so proud and looking forward to dining here. However, the food was terrible and pricey for the portions. The food was bland. The pork shoulder was just bland and dry….and how do you mess up rice & peas. No seasoning at all. Sofrito is defintely needed. The potato salad tasted like egg salad. It was just egg and potato….no seasoning. Very disappointed. A new cook is definitely needed.

Family-owned and delicious. I met the sweet, hospitable mother and daughter combo while stopping by for lunch and will certainly be returning in the future!

This place is a hidden gem. For an area swarmed with so many other restaurants all serving the same “Tex Mex” passing for Mexican food that supposedly speaks for all “Hispanics” this place is a breath of fresh air.

Delicious. Small place but you can still eat there. Food is good, music is good. The employees are so nice. Definitely recommend.
