Our second trip in 4 months to Hermann from Dallas. We love this town and the people who make it so charming. We came back to the Tin Mill and brought my mom this time. The schnitzel is always great. The seafood platter was so good, especially the crab cakes. We asked for Kayla, who had been our server twice the last time we were in town. She totally remembered why we had come up last time (for our dog showing at Purina Farms) and asked how he had done and how we had been. Talk about excellent service along with great food!

Added the restaurant to my list when researching for a long weekend trip. I was a little disappointed they were out of the park schnitzel, but the seafood spatzel and cheese definitely made up for it. It was amazing. We also split the sausage appetizer, which was also very good. Our bartender was a mixology master and very attentive and fun. Loved the inside decor, which was left mostly original from the mill. Great experience and I would recommend going.

Our 2nd time visiting Tin Mill in a 1year time frame. Last year, no toilet paper in the ladies restroom, same thing yesterday. Informed the waitress about this, received attitude from her. She asked which stall, does that really matter? There should have been an apology with something along the lines of “thank you for letting me know, I’ll have it taken care of.” FOOD-we both ordered the pork schnitzel lunch plate, honestly, I have made this exact plate for my family, at home and it tasted better! At $26 a plate, the food should be phenomenal. The beer flight was good, could have been better if it was colder. Waitress dropped off our plates, she never came back by to see if anything was needed. Upon finishing and placing our plates at the edge of the table did she stop to ask if I would like a refill on my watered down drink. Nope check please. For the prices that is charged, this restaurant should be in tip top shape with friendly responsive employees. Plenty of other restaurants around, will not be a returning customer.

Wonderful german meal. Started with the bratwurst/knockwurst/red cabbage appetizer. Then schnitzel, spaetzle and finished with German Chocolate cake. All excellent.

I was rooting for this place, after reading through reviews here in Google. Cool restaurant inside an historic mill in downtown Hermann. Gave this place a shot after reading mixed reviews, but our experience was overall great. Service was on par and the food was delicious. My chicken and mashed potatoes dish was savory and very well presented. The loaded fries appetizer was a delight. My ONLY negative was that there was some guy at the bar who was loud and throwing down some “F” bombs, and it seemed that the bartender was right with him and encouraging it. I didn’t like that and it did cause a romantic evening out with my wife to be less than. Would have appreciated the bar area being a bit more separated from the dining area, but I get the Hermann vibe. Anyway, good experience overall.

Atmosphere was just ok. I was expecting more. Our waiter was good and service was quick. We ordered the pretzels, which were really good. I expected more German choices, which there weren’t – so we got the pork schnitzel. The pork, potato salad, and the red cabbage were all quite good, and the portion size was more than enough.

Excellent flight of brews and one of the BEST prime Rib sandwiches. Perfectly trimmed, seasoned and delicious. Great job! Must stop if in the area of Herman MO!

All the food was made well and was tasty! Every beer on the beer flight was baseline but brewed well. The menu prices were $4-5 more than they should be, and affected the overall value. Overpriced seems to be a Hermann thing. Most menu items were better for a lunch menu. The hours are strange here, so be sure to check times. Last call for food is 7:30, or 6:30 on Sundays.

This was an excellent experience and I highly recommend you make time to stop here! The outside seating is delightful, the inside is comfortable and spacious with a wonderful ambience. I highly suggest the crab cakes and Seafood Spätzle and Cheese!!!! I prefer the whisky neat, but if you’re not a a whisky drinker, they have wine and delicious cocktails. And let me just say, the staff is quite excellent. You’ll have a wonderful dining experience, so make some time… And then wander over to the Black Shire Distillery Tasting room!
