We are fans of “mom and pop” diners and are thrilled to discover this fantastic little place. We’d been in Wakita, were back on the road and ready for lunch. We’d have been happy with just a decent burger and this really exceeded our expectations! Not only was the food delicious but the server took the time to make sure our order was exactly right. In addition to a delicious burger for my husband with perfect sweet potato fries and BLT wrap for myself with fried okra we indulged in an order of fried mushrooms. They did not disappoint! Possibly the best fried mushrooms we’ve had anywhere! Even though we live hours away we are definitely going to reroute our next trip to get back here for their catfish.

Great little place. The salad and pasta bar are amazing. The hot food was ok. The fried chicken was over cooked. The meatloaf is sweet (not my preference). The pork and ham were good. The mashed potatoes and gravy was good. Service was excellent.

Oh my goodness. We had dinner here last night. I had the catfish, my mom had marinated grilled chicken, and my son had a double cheeseburger. It was sooo good. We had to bring home half of my sons burger and on our hour way home we just kept talking about how good the food was and how delicious the burger was. Last night before bed. My son was on the verge of sleep when she said, “ momma. Don’t eat my food.” So of course I couldn’t then. Now bring us to today. We are craving the burger so much I came on here to see when they are open so we could debate on if we should drive the hour for another burger. It’s that good.

We chose to eat lunch from the well stocked buffet table and salad bar. All of the food was awesome and I especially loved the chicken and noodles and lemon chicken. Service was exceptional; the staff was fast and friendly. Prices were excellent. We will definitely eat here again.

This is a place where you can get good home style food, fresh baked bread and homemade desserts. It’s locally owned and operated and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I know I mentioned the fresh bread and desserts but just letting everyone know you can call ahead and order dinner rolls, jalapeno cheese bread, cinnamon rolls, bread bowls for soup, etc. It’s absolutely delicious!

Absolutely fantastic food, friendly service and very clean! It is super competively priced as well. The buffet at lunch was super! I wish we lived in the area, because we would be eating there at least 2 to 3 times weekly.

Food was not good, burnt fried mushrooms that looked like they were fried yesterday then refried today, and they knew and still served them as I could hear them in the kitchen talking about it before we were served, ordered a blt, got a bacon cheese burger that costs $4 more and I paid it because I’m not going to argue with a child about such things. Also heard them talking about something on their buffet table being nasty when they came in this morning which is concerning. $80 for yucky food for 5 people in a tiny town? The little girl got a tip for being attentive… I’ll stick to Smrkas…
