In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Having visited Joella’s across the street on several occasions and never having a good meal, I was skeptical about a new hot chicken joint opening up in Broad Ripple. I was wrong to be skeptical. Dave’s is blowing up for all the right reasons. I ordered on their app, it was super convenient and simple to use. Upon entering the store to pick up my order, I was greeted by the staff, and handed my bag immediately. The chicken was fresh, juicy, and delicious, the fries cooked to perfection. The Dave’s sauce was quite the deal at 25 cents a packet. I returned a mere 3 days later and had a similarly excellent experience. The first visit, I ordered mild chicken. Mild is an understatement. It was delicious, but bore no heat at all. The medium is more like a mild. Also great flavor, but no real heat. I’ll be getting the hot next time as a friend told me it was probably the heat range what I was looking for.

This is the best spot to go to for fresh fried chicken. The spice levels range from not spicy at all, for people who just want some good chicken without the heat, to so hot they make you sign a waiver before you can get it. The fries are S Tier, 10/10. The seasoning they put on the fries makes them seriously better than other restaurants fries. Very crispy too. The dave’s sauce is tasty and if you get a medium-hot spice range it has a nice cooling affect.

Upon entering devante welcomed my friend and I. 2nd time to eat great food the Hot is hot! The honey on the chicken is a must! Never have I been a fan of crinkled fries. These are crispy and not mushy. Chicken tasted amazing! Great full for new food in our city!

Best chicken sandwich I have had so far in the Indianapolis area. Crispy, spicy, and lots of flavor. Maybe a little bit too much salt in the seasoning would be my main critique. Very clean location, with friendly staff. Price is reasonable for the amount of food they give.

Ordered cheese fries and they had a very thin drizzle of cheese. I asked if I could please have more cheese and they said I had to pay $0.50 for more cheese. I showed them my fries and how they barely had any cheese and they said that’s just the amount that comes on them. I don’t understand why they would rather have a sad customer instead of squirt an extra shot of cheese over my fries. I’ve been to the downtown location and they give way more cheese than this, this is abnormal.

Food is delicious! Devin took our order and was very friendly and accommodating to my order changes. He brought the food to our table and made sure we had everything we needed. Great customer service! The service was fast, fresh food and good portions. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already.
