We were greeted by a friendly hostess immediately, our food came so promptly and my soup was piping hot and the most delish chicken tortilla soup ever. My 4yr old totally devoured her soft chicken taco. Worth every $, we’ll definitely be back

This has become one of our Go-To places. The food is good and reasonably priced. The servers are friendly. They have decent drinks and beer but it’s not a loud “margarita party on the patio” kind of Mexican place.

It shouldn’t even be called Mexican food. It’s if an American tried to make Mexican dishes. I highly recommend trying Cantaritos down the street. It’s a little more pricey, but the food is much better than this slop

The food was fair priced. It came out quickly and everything was hot and delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Nice music was playing and it was a comfortable setting. My family had a lovely experience here. By far, the best Mexican restaurant we’ve been to.

First time dining at El Rio de Mexico in Pearl River, Louisiana and found the wait staff friendly and the food very good. Prices were very reasonable. My husband had 3 soft tacos with beef and said they were very tasty and I had 2 soft tacos with shredded beef and they were very good too. Recommend for good food at a very reasonable price point.

Blink and you’ll miss it!!! It’s a small place but it packs a big punch. Will not hurt your wallet that bad either. I’ve been there a few times now and haven’t been disappointed yet, I’ve gotten authentic Mexican food at a fair price. Some of the dishes seem a bit generic to me though, while tasting good just needs that little bit of extra to bring it to a solid 5 star rating. Over all though I enjoy this place. 4.75 stars

Pearl river hasn’t had many great food places in the 20 or so years I’ve been here. When El rio came about I didn’t think much of it. Figured it was just another resteraunt that would disappear in a few month. After many more months of this place being here I decided to give it a try. It quickly became my go to place for eating in pearl river. I go here every Friday after the gym and the staff pretty much knows me now. The food is excellent and the service is even better. Very friendly and down to earth. I don’t get that kind of experience often.

My wife and I have been going to El Rio de Mexico for over a year now and we love the food. The service is great and the staff are like friends to us. If you are passing through you should try it. I you will definitely leave with a full belly.

Alright place. Nothing spectacular. Check the booths before you sit down though. Some of them have the table too low. I sit in the big one on the left or a regular table. The others are too uncomfortable. The fajita burrito is pretty yummy. Be sure to get cheese sauce on top.

While it is hardly authentic Mexican, this place did some things quite well. While the salsa isn’t nearly spicy enough (not just in terms of sheer heat, but in terms of flavor), and the guacamole lacks any pizzazz (and has way too much cilantro in it to balance well with the other flavors), their spicy salsa (sold separately) and their queso dip are really very good. I had the chile relleno, and my sister had the chorizo and eggs. She was slightly disappointed, as her chorizo and eggs were scrambled together. She prefers them separate. However, she said the flavor was good, and she enjoyed the rice. I was very happy with the relleno and the rice. The beans were a tad runny and very plain. I have to say, though, that it is better than most of the “Mexican” restaurants in the Slidell area. All-in-all, if you really like Mexican food, give this a shot.
