I was in the mood for a good authentic Gyro and boy did I find one. The reviews are absolutely true, this place has delicious food!! The first time I had the Gyro sandwich combo. The second time I had the platter. Both were hot, fresh and very yummy. The service was quick and courteous. This will be my go to spot for gyros from now on. And the baklava was soooo good. The young lady at the counter was very nice and helpful. What a great place!!

We were at VA beach/Norfolk on our family vacation. After tiring but much worthy visit of Nauticus and Battleship Wisconsin we found this place. Even the neighborhood did not seem to be very appealing but food was very tasteful. Prices for lunch special was great and service was acceptable. Two of my kids are picky eater but they both like their Gyro and Chicken platter.

I have had Istanbul Gyro before, but it was a couple years ago and it was takeout. I had some time today, so I walked over for lunch and it was wonderful. The woman behind the counter was so friendly and personable. I got the gyro combo, which was so delicious. It came with a canned drink and chips. I also got a cup of the lentil soup. It wasn’t to my taste, but it was still very good. I also got a Turkish coffee, which was delicious, and I got some baklava to take with me. The baklava is delicious and I love that it’s got pistachios in, rather than the walnuts I’ve had in other baklava. I’ll certainly be coming back for more!

I’d wanted something to wash away this salad I’d gotten last night from….eh, it wasn’t good. The buffalo shrimp was good, but not on the 2nd day. So I’d looked up some mediterranean places and found this place. I had the mixed app. Hummus was really good. Dolmades (grapes leaves) were good. The eggplant salad was good. The spanakopita was just kinda, eh, alright. I’ve had better. I’d go back!

Great place for an authentic Turkish meal! Once you walk in, your happily greeted by an associate at the store. Guess what, he is also Turkish from Istanbul. Hint, hint, restaurant name Istanbul Gyro and kebab! This is not just a coincidence! Lol Now onto the food, I ordered the lamb and beef plate with a side onion salad. I have provided the menu in the pictures. Also the meals are located there too. The meal came out hot off the grill in no time at all, maybe 5 minutes. I also had an appetizer of wrapped grape leaves rolled in rice and spices. The flavors melted perfectly together in my mouth. It was a moment when you just want to chew slowly and savor the pickled leaves flavorings on the rice.

We just ate here for the first time and it was delicious! My husband had the Turkish coffee and the gyro wrap and I had the gyro sauté with tzatziki. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I’m in love, we will definitely be back.
