Staying in Commerce near the interstate and not many good, non-chain restaurants, so I decided to expand my search radius and found this cute little BBQ joint in Maysville. I was greeted with a friendly smile and waited just a couple of minutes while a couple was being served. While I was waiting, I spoke with the owner who is a veteran….super friendly. It is very nice inside with lots of character. Simple, but well represented menu. I ordered pulled pork (sandwich), which is my M.O. when trying a new BBQ place. I also ordered the slaw and pecan cornbread. The pulled pork was excellent and has to be in the top three ‘Q places I’ve tried (Salt Lick- Austin, TX. Peddling Pig- Boone, NC. Humble Hog- Paxton, IL., among others)…..good moisture content, good smoke ring, great flavor. The slaw was THE best I’ve ever had…fresh cabbage, Vidalia onions and some greens (maybe kale?) and just right on the amount of sauce and sweetness. The pecan cornbread was THE best I’ve ever had! Moist, not overly sweet, with pecans….not typical yellow cornbread. The ambiance was cool, staff and owner super cool and the outside was made for photographs. Definitely going to come here again before leaving the area. Support your local independent restaurants, not the garbage chain restaurants.

Tried this place for the first time today and it was so good and the people there were so friendly and welcoming! Ordered for my family and we each got the pork plates and extra sides. Everything was amazing! Definitely plan on visiting again soon.

Small town restaurant with plenty of potential but they need more help. It’s like one of those places that you see on the TV shows where the place gets the hell’s kitchen bootcamp and flips it around etc. Long story short I spent hard earned money on cold food and poor service.

These people can COOK. This food was probably the best I have had in YEARS. Thank you thank you thank you. Bryson’s catered a business lunch for us and everyone ate EVERYTHING. I can’t wait to go back. The service was perfect. The pecan cornbread and Blondie bars were absolute heaven. Please host a baking class. Vidalia slaw, Mac and cheese, pulled chicken and pork, sauces = all were fantastic. Thank you again.

Such an amazing place in downtown Maysville! Best BBQ I’ve ever had, the environment was clean, the owners were energetic, super friendly, and definitely had a love for what they do! My wife and I stopped in on a whim and now we’re planning to make it a weekly lunch trip! I absolutely love seeing these small businesses coming to Maysville and thriving! I can’t recommend them enough, if you like BBQ, you MUST give this place a try!

Come because you’re hungry, stay for the people! This was the most amazing restaurant experience we have EVER had, not just because the food was phenomenal, but the people are the most energetic, friendly, enthusiastic, and amazing people we have ever met. The menu is very simple, and not overwhelming like a lot of BBQ places can be, and omg… it is SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!!! There was absolutely no gristle in my pulled pork sandwich, the Mac and cheese, while baked, was super creamy and not dry like most baked Mac and cheese dishes are. We were given a sample of the New Years Stew, and let me tell you… it may not sound good, but it was incredible and I will now have a new craving! They also read through their seasoning blend to make sure I could eat it as I am allergic to certain seasonings. Find me another restaurant that will do that. I’ll wait. YOU CAN’T! To top everything off, my husband and I both ate for $24, and they didn’t skimp on the portions. You can’t even get fast food for that anymore. These people are incredible, their food is incredible, and my hubby and I are going to make Bryson’s BBQ a regular part of our weekly routine. I can’t wait to eat there again, see you next week!!!

Chicken had no flavor, ribs were burned on outside/had to throw outside away, cornbread was cold, over priced. Friendly people and nice environment.
