This was my first visit, I ordered breakfast here. The Mexican omelet with grits. Since this particular coney island doesn’t give toast with their omelet, I ordered a half order of pancakes.

Greeted it with disappointment!! I ask the Waitress for a take out water because I don’t drink during my meal and it was hot outside. I got this response. Do you want all your food in take out containers? And am I dining in? So, the cook explained to me that past customers do that and I simply informed him that you can’t Treat everyone based on your past experiences. I didn’t appreciate the service nor the food; my beets were Gray, the chicken was dry and chunky and one little cup of dressing for a $15 salad. They added the gratuity in the bill fully aware of my Dissatisfaction with the service. I’m a wonderful tipper too. And just gave me the bill total. Of course, I will not be returning.

Walked in, immediately met with old carpet funk, dingy looking ambiance. It was very displeasing to the sight. The help was much more into whatever it was she was doing before we walked in. She was not busy at all, though. She finally brought menus but failed to ask what we wanted to drink. About 3 minutes later, my fiancee read that an automatic gratuity is added to all dine in and carry outs. Which explains why they were so dead. That fun fact led us to get up and go to Haney’s Family Restaurant, where we should’ve gone in the first place. We were only trying something new. PSA, stick to what you know or prepare to be disappointed. Can’t rate the food because we never made it that far. Would gladly pay a gratuity if the service was good. I’m sure the young lady at Haney’s appreciated the $30 tip we gave her on a $57 check. No gun to head, adding automatic gratuity at Haney’s, just good food and awesome service.

Regardless of the food. If your going to charge a gratuity, you should have a sign. If your going to charge a “card transaction fee” you should have a sign… paid an extra $5 & wouldn’t have know had I not asked for an itemized receipt. Or asked why the price I was charged was still not the price on the itemized receipt smh

Being totally transparent the food was fine. However they wanted to charge an automatic gratuity for two people and a charge to use a card. I went left because when I questioned them most of the staff confronted me. Then the one person says to me in the United States this is what happens. I will never eat there again not will I recommend anyone else. They took me out of my whole comfort zone and messed up my whole day.
