I had just a brief moment for lunch, but I wanted something fun. This place was everything I wanted. It is a diner built into a railroad diner car. The food was the American fare you would expect in a diner, but I was shocked at how good even the fries were. They put the effort in their food. Speaking of effort, the staff met me at the door all smiles. Every single person there was friendly and attentive. Lately I have been jaded by the teens and young adults in the service industry. I’m used to the surly, I don’t care service. These fine people actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. It made me happy and light hearted just to be there. I could have had a glass of water and left the place with a bounce in my step. Want a great burger or sandwich? This is the place. Want to leave a business with joy and happiness? Well then bonus, this is also that place.

This place was cool. Staff was really friendly. Burgers were really good, tots were perfect, cheese fries with jalapeno bacon were delicious. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Brownwood.

The staff here are so nice, polite and friendly! Very attentive to your order and drinks. The food is amazing! I got a burger and the fried pickles (which are some of the best I’ve had). What’s not to like about eating in a train car?? Such a cool place to dine in. Love eating here!

So neat! Take advantage and visit the owner’s bookstore in downtown as well. The waitress was extremely customer oriented even when she started getting busy and a sweet little girl even came up and hugged her while she was taking our order. Everything here has been meticulously picked out to fit the theme. I had new England clam chowder and was extremely nervous about ordering this dish in the middle of Texas. It was delicious! Treat yourself and get pictures while you are here. The train even sits on railroad tracks! There is also someone there to get the door to greet you and tell you goodbye!

Great little cafe. Stopped for lunch with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Staff was very polite, professional and food came out fast. My daughter enjoyed the very thick and delicious milkshake. Highly recommended this place

Would definitely be coming back to this diner next time we are in town. From being greeted with the staff opening the door when you first arrive an as your leaving. The food was great an the ice cream after hits the spot. The whole staff their was friendly an quick to help the appetizers came out in a good time an so did the meal.

The food is great! Our service was terrible. The guy actually complained that we got up and asked a different worker for a refill. He didn’t bring us our drinks. We asked someone else to bring our drinks. I have never not left a tip, but I didn’t this time. I would say I need a refill and he would go to the table next to us. He talked about getting a tip from the table next to us. This place has gotten really expensive. The food is delicious, but the limited options and the price make it not really worth it. I hate saying that because the owner is awesome and the sweetest. However, we will not be going back.
