Proof of the tenet that the most unassuming place will be the best. Not a single bad meal by the whole family. I particularly liked the Chile Verde. The salsa tomatillo was perfect. Sébastien was an excellent server. Carnitas were classic as well as the chicken fajitas.

This place has gone so far downhill. No service. Ordered a small queso and got a 2 oz ramekin of queso. And no happy hour like advertised or any draft beers. Won’t be back.

Moctezumas new location is just as good as the old location on Beltline Blvd. only a block away from each other. The food is still the same authentic Mexican and it looks like Pedro has added some new items (I will have to try them all). The Margaritas were perfect just like the meal. The new location is spacious, but get there early as there was a line out the door when I left. It all was a great experience so go and enjoy!!!

Service was slow, understaffed. Our waitress was all over the place busy. Prices kinda high for not a ritzy place. Ordered 2 diet pepsi, $7.00 (3.50 ea). Really small cheese dip $6.00. Wife got Chimichanga dinner with funny tasting chicken, and I got cheese/steak fries which were ok. And to top it off, when we got our bill, I handed them my debt card, returned to a higher bill. They charged a Surcharge Fee of 3.5 % because I used a card. Most places warn you when you pay that they will charge for using a credit card. Not a word, and I had cash too. Unfortunately this affected the normal tip of 20% now lowered to 15%. So no alcohol or deserts but the total bill costs us $47.00. Will never eat there again.

We stopped in Friday at lunch and sat at the little bar in the front. We ordered the chorizo queso to start which was pretty good and exactly like it should be. For lunch I had the 3 street tacos. The lengua, pastor and suadero. They were all really good. The weren’t filled to the top and the tortillas were a little too big for the amount of meat you get, but they were tasty. Make sure to ask for the habanero and jalapeño hot salsas. If I’m back in town I would definitely stop back in.

The service here is terrible. When I went to pick up my food the lady at the counter didn’t acknowledge my presence or any of the 3 other people waiting for their food. The staff never answered the phone which rang consistently for 7 minutes. It hit the point where I just left out and went to a different mexican restaurant down the street.

First visit… the price for the dips to go were a little too much – the containers were small, the tortillas for the street tacos were very greasy, and the steak was fatty. Overall though, the food was good. The Mexican stew was very flavorful, the beans were good (and I never eat the beans), the rice was good too. The enchiladas were great. The guacamole was really good. We didn’t care too much for the chorizo dip. There was a lot of cilantro in everything… it tastes like dish soap to me. The lunch specials look like great deals so, we’ll go back to try other options.

Parking is limited in front. I wouldn’t recommend the fajitas. The enchiladas are pretty good. Great for drinks. The large drink is massive. They have the tiny ice that is so good. I feel like my drinks had too much ice so go light on ice. Portion size are not enormous. They do have a small bar area. Friendly and welcoming waitress and waiter. They do catering or large to go orders. I saw alot of to go orders so the food is good.

We love coming here for Mexican and just recently tried out their new larger location! They have the best shredded marinated chicken around! I also love their soap de pollo (chicken soup)! We get their “taco bar” to-go when we are having friends over and need to feed a crowd and it is always a HIT!

This is my FAVORITE place in Columbia to get authentic Mexican food. The staff is always friendly and attentive. It doesn’t even matter what meal you get, everything is delicious. The beans are so simple but some of the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend getting the make your own combo with a chicken quesadilla. Also, the guacamole is delicious. The margaritas are sooooo yummy. Try a different one each time! It’s SO GOOD.
