Amazing pizza. I always think about picking up a pie but then I remember that they don’t have a 18 inch pie. The difference between a 16 vs 18 inch is equivalent to an 8 inch pizza extra so it’s a big deal breaker. An 18 inch is a real large size and I think they should offer it even if they label it as “extra large”. If they did this I’m sure more people including myself would order more. Their next size up is a party size which is way too big. For 2-3 people, a 16 is too small and it’s way too costly to order a 16 inch and a 10 inch. For the meantime, I will stick to their slices. Amazing pizza. Very NY style pie.

My family and I visited Tonino’s a few weeks ago right after our hike. Love places like this. Family owned business. The pizza was spectacular and flavorfull. Plus they were very friendly. I will make sure I will stop by again when I am in the area.

It’s one of the best pizzeria places I’ve ever been to. Mostly takeout. Limited seating. But friendly service and delicious food. Right off the Canal bike path near Quinnipiac College. We stop in every bike ride.

How terrific, as we entered a customer recommended their pizza with “it’s the best”, so we had cheese slices while our ham and cheese sub was being prepared. The ingredients were so fresh and tasty. Very easy to recommend Tonino’s to one and all.

On our e-bikes the wife and I stopped in for a little bite to eat. A slice and some fried mozzarella sticks then back on the ride great place nice guys and its right on the trail. If your riding to New haven stop in good place for a snack or whatever full menu. Been here few times always nice people in the plaza very nice area.

Customer service is over the top. Owner took the time to explain why reheating raw mushrooms for one slice of pizza wasn’t safe. He took the time to show me how he makes eggplant pizza which I never heard of. He brought the cooked eggplant from the kitchen to show me how they make it. The smell of his homemade Italian bread is amazing. Don’t miss this place on your travels.

I have yet to have a remotely bad experience here. Friendly owners and staff, quiet atmosphere, and phenomenal food. Excellent spot all around.

Years ago when I worked at Quinnipiac Polling, Tonino’s was my go-to for “dinner”. The pizza was always good. As I’m no longer nearby, my visits are far and few between. Yesterday knowing I would be in the vicinity I looked forward to ordering a pie, only to be disappointed in not one but many aspects of my order. There was absolutely no crust. It looked like a cookie with sauce on top. The extra toppings were so scarce as to be almost non-existent as well as the sauce. The overall taste was so bland, I had to add some salt which as far as pizza goes, never, ever have I needed to add it to any pizza from my past. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed as pizza restaurants are a rarity where I now live. I was hoping for a knock out slice but instead got another failed attempt at serving good food. PS. The pie did not resemble the one on their website!
