What I can say about Pennies Tex Mex Take Out is that if they sell it, whatever it is, it’s among the best you can get. I’ve tried nearly everything they have to sell and nothing is lacking. The ribs and brisket are the among best that I’ve had anywhere; and I’ve judged competitions for many years as well as conducted BBQ tours in Missouri, Oklahoma, & Texas. From the bark to the ring, the cut, the tenderness, and flavor; the brisket are ribs achieve perfection on every level. No sauce needed but that’s good too.

The Tamales are off the CHAIN!!! The Ribs and Brisket almost melt in your mouth. Service was on Point and very attentive to what you want. Atmosphere very welcoming, friendly the ordering and receiving area is kinda crowded if a lot of customers shows up you’ll end up standing out in the elements. My only complaint is the potato salad… might need to experiment with different recipes.

Literally the best pork ribs I have ever eaten. And that is no exaggeration! The meat fell off the bone and was moist and juicy and savory!! So so good!! That’s an understatement!! Call ahead to reserve the ribs because they sell out fast!!

You cannot beat the service here. Everyone is so nice! Best brisket tacos by far!! The sausage and ribs are also really good. They also had fajita chicken and fajita beef as a special for Cinco de Mayo. Some of the best fajita beef I’ve ever had. Definitely a new favorite for us in Galveston. We will be back any time we are in town.

Come support your local community!! This place has great food all the way around. On this day we came for breakfast tacos, although they only have barbacoa i will tell you that is all you need. The meat is not seasoned so you are able to taste all the natural flavors and are super delicious with some gentle salt. You will also get some hot sauce. You will see that the serving size is well worth the price. Im telling you, you wont be disappointed coming here. We will come back.
