The spaghetti and fresh buttered bread were delicious! The salad was fresh too.

The only red wine was chilled and sweet. (This is an Italian restaurant; that should have been our first clue.) My seafood pasta was good (shrimp and scallops) but the chicken Parmigiana was not good, and the Chateaubriand looked like scraps of meat and was inedible. Prices are far too high, especially for the quality. Lovely atmosphere, but we soon figured out why nobody was there at 7 pm on a Friday night. Since everything is served family style and my seafood pasta was $26, I assumed there would be plenty to share, but there was not, and I’m not a big eater (I can’t usually eat an entire sandwich). We love to support local restaurants, but we won’t be back.

We are retired military officers of 30 years. We first ate here in 1978, when getting our registered nursing degrees at Wilburton Oklahoma. One of my best friends , who was from a family of one hundred years of McAlester area Oklahoma farmers, had been a fan of these five Italian miner’s restaurants since 1950. All of us , including a granddaughter of the original owner of the theses famous five Italian miner’s restaurants, called Giacomos , graduated in us , from the registered nurse program at our Wilburton Oklahoma. We have lived all over America, and Europe, during our thirty years as military officers, and we still come to eat at these Italian restaurants every decade. Great food and people. If you like industrial fast food like the Olive Garden , and McDonald’s, please go there, but don’t bother trying this real Italian cuisine . Still make beef the best spaghetti and meatballs. We still have some of our college class who are military, or federal government employees , who now live all over the world, but still eat at these old Italian restaurant when they are in Oklahoma.

On the recommendation of a friend who grew up in the area, we had the chateaubriand family dinner – so incredible. One of the best steaks of my life, amazing spaghetti, just all-around deliciousness.

Poor service from the start. Constantly had to request things like silverware napkins, took forever to get food. Portion sizes were not even close to what they should be for the price points. For the cost of eating here service and food should always be on point. And you would think they could purchase new carpet.

I took my girlfriend and my daughter to File of Capri on Saturday May 1st. This was a big mistake. The food did not taste very good. 2 out of 3 steaks were sent back because they were under cooked, as in raw and fatty. The third one was over cooked. Got the other two steaks back and they were still not right. The pasta was also under cooked in the spaghetti and the ravioli. We were asked how the food was when we cashed out the check. I told the lady it was not worth the money we paid. $130 for sub par food. We will never go back to this restaurant. I give them less than 1 star at best.

Not what it used to be! Our food, once we got it, was ok. The lamb fries were outstanding, but the rest was only ok, and we got it one piece at a time over an hour and a half! It took us 20 or 30 minutes to get our water…. AFTER they brought our salad & bread. Good thing no one choked. The marinara tasted like sweet tomato sauce with onions. The spaghetti was cold. Sad, because this used to be our favorite place to eat.

Grew up eating here about 25 years ago and it was great back then. Visited last weekend and everything about the restaurant is the exact same EXCEPT the food. The building has not aged well – exact same decor, chairs, tables, carpet, etc as was there 25+ years ago. Temperature outside was almost 100°, but the bathroom had no air conditioning. Food was mediocre at best. I knew the prices before visiting were steep and 25 years ago it was well worth it. Definitely not worth it anymore… raviolis weren’t cooked through, bread was soggy, french fries were limp and very greasy. We were there on a Friday night at 7pm and we were 1 of only 4 tables in the entire restaurant. I was excited about taking my husband here for his 1st time, but we won’t be visiting again. Much better Italian joints in Krebs (Roseanna’s & Pete’s Place).

The food and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Truly felt like a high class dining experience. The owners family runs the place and could not be more kind or accommodating. Being a lifelong resident of the Mcalester and Krebs area I can confidently say that I will choose the Isle every chance I get
