I had the Shrimp Dinner and they were awesome! The shrimp were huge, lightly bread not all breading and no shrimp like you can get elsewhere. The salad was better than normal restaurant salads, a mixture of greens, the cheese, cherry tomatoes, red onion and croutons were in separate parts in case of salad in case you didn’t want them. I had a baked potato also. My husband had a ribs and chicken wing special which was also really good. Our waitress Amanda was very friendly, took our drink order and gave us plenty of time to decide on our order. She went above and beyond as our waitress! I highly recommend if you haven’t been to Red Anchor or if it’s been a while, make a point to go, you won’t be disappointed!

Food was great, came in on Saturday night for my father in laws birthday. My husband order a draft beer the waitress came back 10 minutes later said it wasn’t available my husband has poor luck, we ordered another draft beer she came back said my husband has the poorest luck of anyone she had ever met, the line to that draft beer had broke, that’s not us having poor luck that’s you providing poor service, it was rude to blame your customers for the service.

My steak was literally spoiled. I had 3 people at the table taste a little bite. Send it back . Got the ribs, delicious, my wife had the walleye said hers was very fishy. So I don’t think we will return unless for the ribs. There was 8 in our party and all were disappointed. The chef should of been checking the foods before even cooking. Sorry but the waitress was great.

A basic food that any restaurant should get right is a hamburger. With this place, that is not the case. It was terrible. I suspect it was a frozen patty. It was overcooked and tough. They really skimped on the condiments. Thus, it was a dry tasteless burger. The service was subpar. They get away with poor food, because they are the only place to go for miles around.

We’ve been in Newaygo for eight months and finally made it here. Escargot, walleye and whitefish were all good. Met everyone around us sitting at the bar. We really enjoyed our experience here and will be putting this place in our dinner rotation.

Atmosphere is cute. Service, well I didn’t think she was attentive, she never asked if everything was ok. And our coffee was only refilled when we spoke up. Maybe it’s a learning curve? Food, flavor was basic… A hamburger was ordered with ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. And NO pickles at all.

Worst dining experience. Food is awful. Gordon foods specials. ZERO INTEGRITY!. Service was great until waitress burned my 11 month old sending him screaming and she didn’t even flinch or apologize until confronted.
