Objectively the food is probably 4 stars, but I’m going to give 5 because I love places you can get a meat and two sides, like this. Very pleasant traditional atmosphere. I had the roast chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sides were great. The alcohol selection is thin but there. For the area and quality they are cheap. I will have to come back for the all day breakfast. That menu is large and varied.

We would return if only for the AMAZING Keith!! He’s the best of the best. I asked for sour cream and he literally went to go get some from the grocery store across the street. I would have stopped him – he is absolutely the best! If we get to go back we’ll have the poached eggs – we are not used to so much grease in omelette but that’s personal preference not quality. The quality of the food was wonderful. Coffee tasted very good. If you want cheese on your grits just know they come plain.

Went to the Royal restaurant for the first time on a Sunday for brunch. Brunch is from 8 to 2 for $21? A person all you can eat. Delicious food plenty of choices to choose from. Waffles, omelettes, fresh fruit, as well as several types of sides.

They fell off a little bit. And make it so bad prices have steadily increased there. Now I understand price is going up with inflation and area that we live in. Having said that if I’m going to pay $15 instead of seven or eight for a two egg breakfast I expect that it should be made with fresh ingredients to order with care. The bacon tasted like it was made forever ago and they just warmed it up when I place my order. The French toast was Bland and kind of soggy. I question if that was made a while ago and just warmed up when I placed the order for that as well. They got about one or two more chances before I totally give up on them. The breakfast buffet on the weekends was good last time I was there before this.

Royal is my favorite place in Old Town North. The food is exceptional and has the classic diner quality…staff is super friendly, and service is fast. Do yourself a favor and try out this wonderful place…you’ll be one a regular for sure. The Breakfast Sandwich on a croissant, the Royal Burger, and the Turkey Dinner are the best!!!

I love that they offer a buffet breakfast option for $19.50. They have a small free parking lot available. I ordered the french toast package breakfast option and it filled me up perfectly prior to my bike riding workout. The grapefruit juice was perfectly fresh. Service was fast and friendly especially my waitress liz.

Delicious traditional diner-style breakfast spot! Friendly staff. Close to Old Town but not fussy. Eggs come with grits or home fries. Large portions, especially the pancakes which are gigantic! Excellent buffet on the weekend.

The food was delicious and well served by the server named Ana. She took great care of us and made sure what we wanted and was so knowledgeable about the price on side orders. Everything we need was nicely put together at the table. We didn’t have to keep requesting anything. I am very impressed and happy to visit this historic restaurant. I love it and would recommend this to anyone who wants a cozy place to eat with excellent service.
