Service was exceptional and the food was amazing! Went for a birthday dinner and they pulled out all the stops for the birthday girl. Even took a group photo and printed it off for us. I will definitely be coming back and recommend to anyone who is looking for a fine dining experience in the capital region!

I had the privilege to attend a shift opening for them. The food was mouthwatering, the staff were amazing, and they held a fundraiser for the regional food bank and raised $12,000 that night. What an amazing way to present themselves to our community. If your are looking for a lovely date night I couldn’t recommend this place enough! The barbecued shrimp was too DIE for. Special shout out to our server Adam. He was brilliant!!!!

We were lucky enough to be VIP on Saturday night before the actual opening. We’ve been to Ruth’s Chris before in Hawaii 3 times and never had a bad experience.

So happy and grateful I got a chance to go there the Saturday before they officially opened! The food is excellent, and the service is just as great. I highly recommend the veal osso bucco ravioli appetizer (it could also work as a main course) and checking out their dessert menu, because WOW.

Everything was great but atmosphere was more like a sports bar with baseball caps and a sports atmosphere based upon the attire. Not what one expects with these prices $25 a glass of wine. You can’t have it both ways. Either high end or a sports bar. Not willing to pay these prices for a sports bar. Enforcing the dress code will eliminate these issues, but only if enforced.

I will be back to give it one more shot, but my first experience at the Albany location was sub par and frankly disappointing. I’m assuming growing pains, because I’ve dined at several Ruth’s Chris in the D.C. area and they’ve been amazing. Atmosphere started off great as we walked into the door, your greeted by several staff whom are extremely professional which I love. My friend and I wore white, and our wives wore black dresses, and the staff switched out our dinner napkins to match the color of what we were wearing. Very cool. But overall, we were sat in a room, seemingly too close to others because anything louder than a whisper was turning heads. Our voices echoed throughout the room and made us feel embarrassed when we were just trying to have a good time and chat. Other locations of this restaurant it is not this way. I rated atmosphere a 1 star, maybe that’s too harsh but again I’ll rescind my review upon my next visit if things change.

Ruth Cris is a welcome addition to the Albany market, where you can pay more and get far less. For a restaurant that just opened a week ago, service was on point and the steak and every entrée were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server Bianca was amazing and always checking on us and every guest and as cheerful as they come. If there were even the smallest of missteps, everyone was overly apologetic, something you do not see that often anymore in well established – high end restaurants in this area. The Steakhouse market in Albany has a formidable player in town.
